MDE account needed for mobile ordering?

Hi! I’m going to WDW next week with a group and I am the one managing all our plans and tickets. Not everyone has an MDE account and those who do aren’t necessarily linked to their tickets on my plans since they rarely use it.

My question is - can everyone do mobile order for food on their own? Or do they need to be linked to my accounts with their tickets?

They can use your account on either your phone or their own phone. They'll have to punch in their own CC number when they try to pay, since I believe it only supports one card linked to your account at once.

A little hiccup I encountered on my last trip- if two people placing separate orders on the same account are ordering the same exact thing, the app might kick it out for fear it's a duplicate order. Just something to consider.

Ah, thanks! I’m talking about having them order from their phones, even if their account is not linked to my MDE account.

What do you mean they “aren’t linked to their tickets”? Are you linked to them via their MDE accounts, or are they simply listed on your F&F list as you manage them, which would mean that to MDE the people in your MDE are not the same people who own those other MDE accounts? The reason I ask is that I wonder whether it matters to MDE that the people ordering through their own MDE aren’t in the park (because the people linked to the tickets in your MDE are not the same people placing the order, as far as MDE is concerned).

I meant that I hadn’t linked their tickets to their MDE accounts but I just made them all download and connect with me so I think we’re good now! Basically, what I wanted to know was - can someone mobile order for themselves if they don’t have a park ticket linked to their account?

If you and they are connected via MDE, it doesn’t matter that they didn’t buy the ticket and link it to themselves in their own MDE. If you linked the ticket to them in your MDE, then the ticket is linked to them (and they should be able to open their own MDE account and see their ticket). And they should be good to mobile order.

Mobile ordering has nothing to do with tickets. As long as you are logged into an MDE account (any account), you can place a MO.
