We are driving from MCO this Sunday to VB and need to find an easy stop for groceries, diapers, and such. I am trying to limit our checked baggage and have decided to buy these things en route.

Dreamflight99 (thanks!!) PM'd me with the directions of HWY 528 ,to I-95 South, to 192 East, and onto A1A to VB.

We want to get these things on the way. Is there a decent grocery store or the VB Walmart on the way? Short side trips are OK but I would prefer to not drive 15 miles or so out of the way.

Thanks!

There is a nice Publix supermarket about 10 minutes away. I would suggest different directions from MCo to VB. I would stay on 95 until Exit 156 and take CR- 512 east for 2.5 miles to CR-510 east. To get to VB, take 510 for 8.5 miles to A1-A make a right onto A1-A and the first driveway on your left will be VB. T o get to the Publix supermarket, as you are traveling on CR-510, about 2 miles before VB, make a left onto US 1 North for about 1.5-2 miles-- the Publix will be on your left. These directions are available on mapquest.com. If you were to follow the other directions and take 192 to A1-A, you will be on A1-A for about 25 miles and I believe it would be faster to stay on 95.

I suspect your goal is to get to the VB Resort ASAP. Take sadler's suggestions. Publix is a great place to stop. Farther up US1 is a Super Wal-Mart as well. Hale Groves is located on US1 near 510. Great place to pick up fresh OJ and fruit on the way.

192 East to A1A can add on quite a bit of time. 192 from I-95 through Melbourne is traffic light after traffic light. A1A is 2 lanes from 192 to VB. I take the back roads in Melbourne and avoid 192 whenever possible. If you have time and want to explore the surrounding Melbourne area, then you can use this route. There is a mall and numerous grocery and strip mall stores along the way on 192. Downtown Melbourne has some wonderful old shops to explore as well. You can always head on A1A or US1 north or south after you get to the resort, to do some exploring. Enjoy your stay.:)
