MCO to Tampa? Tampa to WDW?

Hi, we're thinking of flying to FL to attend a football game in Tampa this fall, then getting "mass transit" to WDW to continue our WDW getaway.

Do any of you locals know of any kind of mass transit from MCO to Tampa (we're headed to USF specifically, don't know how possible that is)? MCO-Tampa?

And is there any such mass transit to take us after said football game in Tampa to WDW? Or maybe even back to MCO to grab Magical Express? Tampa-MCO for ME?

We'd hate to rent a car for really only one day's needs.

I promise I searched the transportation forums and came up empty. Thanks for any light you can shed!

You really DO need a 1-day car rental. A taxi or limo would cost hundreds$. AMTRAK operates one train per day from Tampa to Kissimmee and Orlando but the taxi expense from USF to Tampa Station and from Kissimmee or Orlando Stations to Disney would also be lots of money. When you can rent a car for $30-40 plus gasoline, there really is no other viable way.

A car is going to be your best bet. The drive is an easy one...pretty straight-forward. Mass transit isn't going to be easy to accomplish.
