We have always used DME in the past, but I got a great teacher rate at the Dolphin for Labor Day weekend. We arrive at 9:20am, and since we can't take DME, I was wondering what's the best transportation to book? It's just DH and me, so I don't want to spend a lot. (More $ for WDW!) thanks!

Take the Mears shuttle. It's about $30ish r/t pp. You can book it before you go, and pay for it, or you can just go to their counter at MCO and book and pay for it then. It takes up to 90 mins tho...I've used it before and found it to be a decent alternative. A car service will be faster but it will cost over $100.

Above post is correct. We've taken a taxi, car service & the Mears shuttle from MCO to Swan/Dolphin, and for 2 people Mears shuttle is the cheapest. A taxi will run $65 plus tip, a car service even more.

It's been a while since we stayed at S/D, do they have a 'fridge? If so, I'd take a towncar, stop for groceries and save considerable $$ on food costs.

Alamo and National both have car rental locations inside the Dolphin, so you could rent a car at the airport and drop it off at the Dolphin. Probably around $40 unless you can catch a really good deal.

is a taxi or car service the same rate for up to 4 people?
