What do you do when DME drops you off hours early at MCO, with nothing to do?
While on the DME, I could see the tram going to the new intermodal terminal being built, so when we arrived at MCO, I asked around and everyone said it was closed. But I could see the tram making trips every few minutes. Maybe construction workers? It was not on any maps of MCO I could find. So I walked around, and walked around until I found the entrance.
It was kinda hidden, all the way down the opposite end of terminal B from the DME, tucked behind the Air Mexico desk. I could see people using the entrance, they were all airline and MCO staff. There were no signs saying employees or staff only. So we found the tram, and stepped on. It was spotless clean.
And it took us all the way to the new MCO Intermodal terminal, for train, bus, flights, and a new parking garage. Everyone using the tram went straight for the garage. Maybe they are forcing staff to use the new garage? But we skipped that and headed for the new terminal. Its beautiful, massive, lots of glass, etc. and NOT A SINGLE PERSON. It was like a scene out of a zombie apocalypse movie!
Pretty cool. So, if you have time to kill, check it out. and, once the Disney Springs station opens up, this might be where the next Disney Trip officially starts.
