We are looking at going on a 3 day cruise prior to our Disney vacation. We would be flying into MCO on Thanksgiving Day (2015) and need to get to Port Canaveral for a 3 day Carnival Cruise, then arrive back at the Port on Sunday and need to get to WL for 5 days at Disney. I would like a grocery stop on the way to diseny for some breakfast items and adult beverages. Don't want a ton of hassle so I was thinking renting a car for the duration of the cruise might be best. We can get to the port as soon as our plane arrives and after the cruise we could grocery shop on the way to WL, I could drop off luggage, groceries and hubby and then return car to MCO and hop on ME back.

We have some friends joining us on the Disney portion, ok we are joining them per there request since they have never been. Depending on what time their flight arrives I thought I could even meet them at MCO and surprise the kids with a "welcome' sign and a balloon or something.

The pre-Disney cruise would be adult only for me and hubby then our goal is to make the Disney portion magical for this Disney virgin family.

I'm not sure what your question is but I would think a rental car will be your best bet for the entire timed....or at least until you get to WL. You could rent a car at MCO, drive to port, then to WDW with a stop along the way for food, get checked in at WL and then return the car. You could rent through Alamo/National and then return the car at the Car Care Center, not too far from WL...and they will take you back to WL.

I think this is probably my best option, was just curious if I was missing something if anyone had a better idea. I don't need the car at Disney so I would return it before that. I would most likely rent the car from Hertz just because it is my company of choice. But I could leave hubby at WL and return car myself to MCO and time it right to meet our friends there as they arrive and ride ME with them.

Sounds like a plan!
