MCO Hyatt night before cruise

We are cruising w/ my parents in April (can't wait!!!). We are flying in from different states the night before so as to be rested and ready to go the first day. Our desire is to share transportion to the port and with possible airline schedule changes it seems best to spend Fri. night at the airport (in case 1 of the flights is delayed) and travel together Sat. morning to the port.
Our question is what is a good rate at MCO Hyatt and how did you make the reservation (internet, phone call, etc.). Thanks!

We reserved a night at the Hyatt MCO for $52.00 plus $12.00 tax via Hotwire. The only caveat is that when you go on Hotwire, you can't be positive what hotel at MCO you will be getting. There is a thread a couple months back that has what to look for as far as the amenities that helps you narrow down which hotel is which. At any rate, if you reserve all the rooms on one reservation, you will all end up at the same hotel at MCO. If it's not the Hyatt, then it will be just a suttle ride away.

The best rate I've ever had at the Hyatt was $79. I think I booked it via their website, http://orlandoairport.hyatt.com/. I think the most we've paid is $129. It's usually around $99. While you can certainly spend half of that at an off-property hotel, the convenience of the Hyatt is worth the extra cash to me. It's such a small percentage of your entire vacation budget, the extra $50 or so is not that big a deal. When booking, I usually try the Hyatt site and Travelocity, to see which place gives me a better rate. If you're a AAA member, I believe they have a discount.

Hyatt.com has a "Best Rate Guarantee," which says that they'll beat any price. I'm sure there's plenty of legalese which would allow them to snake out of having to beat the priceline price, but it may be worth looking at.

we're staying at the Hyatt in 2 weeks. we booked 10 months ago for $83. Only catch is paying by credit card when you book. but for that price at the Hyatt, you don't mind. It was their own site as well.

I booked back on January 16 for our Nov 29 stay and got the Internet rate of $83. and they just charged my CC.

Since I booked it, it's gone from $83 to $119. to $144.

I can still get AAA rate of $124 though.

Lloyd, the catch with price-matching for sites like Priceline and Hotwire is that once you book with them, you are committed. The Hyatt could match it, but you couldn't cancel the original ressie so it wouldbe pointless. You could say you know someone else who got a certain rate, but they would most likely come back with,"Yes, but not everyone gets the same rate so YOU might not have gotten it with the same bid."
In addition to the Hyatt, you could get an MCO area hotel at the top star level for around $25 to $33 (usually the Marriott) and then take their free shuttle back to the airport in the morning.

I want to stay there the night before our cruise also, but I don't want to spend the $144... I'm hoping they'll come down in price, but I doubt it.
We'll probably check out hotwire and hope for the best.

We stayed there for our cruise in Sept. It is SO convienent!! We got the $83 rate. I would do it again even for the AAA price...

Jeanny, I know it sounds expensive, but for the convenience, if you can swing it, you won't regret it.

There was just something about knowing when we got off our flt., no matter how late it was, that we just had to walk across the terminal to our hotel.... And that the next morning, all we had to do was go downstairs! It was heavenly.

Hey mcnuss~ I know, and I'm kicking myself for not booking it at the $83 rate... my daughter was looking into a deal with the Residence Inn, but hasn't decided what she wants to do yet... I'm leaning towards the convenience of the Hyatt.

We stayed at the Hyatt MCO on our return trip about a year and a half ago for $35 - this was using priceline.

I've been checking every couple of days for July 2004, ALWAYS says $144 (AAA is $129). Even signed up for the gold membership and am getting the same price.

Think I'll book the $149 refundable room, just in case .... Does the hotel ever book full?

Thanks for the hope of an $83.00 room!

We used Orbitz.com and got $79.00 rate at the MCO Hyatt. It was a really smooth process with Orbitz with no problems. The MCO Hyatt is a great place to stay!
