Hello all - we are planning to fly in to MCO on a Saturday evening for our November trip. Our plan was to stay at the Hyatt inside the airport, then take the DME first thing Sunday morning. We have an ADR at 8:15 on Sunday morning.

Does anyone have experience with staying over at the Hyatt? Am I missing something with this plan? From what I can tell, DME starts running at 5:00 am. Not sure how we would manage luggage.

Thoughts?

You will have to pick up your luggage on arrival at the airport and take it to the Hyatt then bring it on the bus the next day. Be sure not to put the yellow luggage tags on your bags.

Where is your ADR and where are you staying? How early are you planning on getting to DME?

We are staying at the Grand Floridian. Our ADR is at Cinderella's Castle.

I'd like to get on DME as early as possible in the morning.

Well using the "90 minutes from plane to check in" rule of thumb, and assuming a 7am resort arrival to get to CRT on time, that puts you at DME about 5:30am probably 6 at the latest. Way too early for me on vacation. But I realize how hard getting a CRT ressie is so I guess you do what you have to do!

Yes, it is super early, we actually have a Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at 8:15, then CRT.

Thanks for the advice. Glad to know it'll work out.

You may have to find a super early arriving flight to give DME for your reservation.

Don't they ask your flight # when you sign up? I could be wrong on that as I've never come in on a different day from my DME ressie.

I know what you're planning to do is perfectly fine unfortunately a little fuzzy on how much info DME needs. I'm sure others will chime in to fill in the gaps in my knowledge !!

Do you have your DME reservations already? Did they ask for a flight number at that time?

Either you need to find a flight number around the time you need a ride, or DME will help you find one. They do need flight information for you, and it needs to match the day that you need a ride.

DME is a service that transports arriving guests to WDW - meaning it is not a bus service that just starts at 5 and runs on a set schedule. So you need to give them a flight number that arrives at MCO really early on Sunday morning so that you are sure that they schedule a bus at that time. There isn't just going to be a bus waiting to run at 5 or 6 in the morning unless there are incoming flights at that time
Good Luck finding a flight that meets your needs

Gotcha, makes perfect sense. Thank you!

This might be a situation where hiring a town car would be your best option. Then you can set your schedule as you want. I can just see you getting on the bus and having to wait for other planes to arrive before you actually leave the terminal. Town car might be less stressful given your reservation times.

Absolutely. That makes a lot more sense to me.

I am a firm believer in using the free service provided by Disney. But in your case, I think the peace of mind is worth the expense. Have a wonderful trip!!
