MCO flight time after disembarkation

If you aren't doing WDW, consider flying into and out of Melbourne. That's what we just did for our Dream cruise and it was a million times better than going through MCO. Small, uncrowded, TSA was a breeze. I want to say it's about the same distance from the port.

Yeah, I looked at Melbourne, but they don't offer any direct flights. We'll have twins on the verge of turning two as well as another toddler so flying direct is key for us. But that could be a good option for someone with better flight options.

I was worried about an 11:35 flight we had in March. We had the early breakfast, got on to the bus at around 7:40?, waited about 20-25 minutes for the bus to fill and was at the airport just after 9. Security lines looked massive but we were at our gate at 9:40. Easy peasy.

Like others have stated IF there is a hitch with customs at the port, or docking delays you could miss your flight, but for me I'm comfortable with an 11:30 flight.

Yeah, I agree that most likely we would be fine. It's just that with two kids under two and another toddler, the cost of missing the flight and trying to rebook would be huge.

We walked off last time with our luggage because our flight was 11:35 and DCL wouldn't "guarantee" or whatever it is, that we would make it in time. We did a private car to the airport and were so early, it was silly. You can easily make it in my opinion.

We took a cruise last year and automatically got pre check. No extra $ and we walked right through. I don't know how that worked? I assumed it was because we were on a Disney cruise and everyone got it so I'm surprised to hear others had issues there.

I fly out of MCO frequently for work and vacations and with pre check Ive never waited more then 20 minutes in a TSA line.

Was it definitely because you were on a cruise? Sometimes TSA will randomly put people in the pre-check line just to get things moving (this raises the question of how necessary the non-pre-check process is).

It was marked on our tickets when we got them from DCL. No idea how or why we got it. Like I said I assumed everyone cruising got it but I guess that's not the case. :confused3

Wow, interesting. I'll have to look into that. I'm assuming you would have to book your tickets through Disney.

Just checked in for our flight tomorrow. Both of us have prechek. I've gotten it before on a couple of flights, but my husband has not. Our best guess was - we're old (and now receiving social security), so we may be on an "already checked" list. Or that we booked our flights through DCL, who knows. I know, as I said, that I've gotten prechek in the past (on non-DCL flights) but my husband hasn't.

I've read that the random (free) prechek assignments are getting fewer, but we got it, yay :cheer2:.
