We have a booking from the 8th August collecting a car from Dollar.

However, as our 1st night we are staying at the MCO Hyatt, we figure we may as well collect the car the following day - and will check with Dollar when we arrive if we can do this.

Has anyone done this before?

You should change your rental dates. They may cancel the reservation if you don't show up.

We are going to show up, we will ask Dollar - just wondered if anyone had done something similar where they collect the following morning.

If they do not let us - we will collect on the 8th and just park the car at the airport.

I've never done this, but I'm just thinking of the cost. Wouldn't it be cheaper just to cancel your current ressie and update it to show the later pickup? Have you tried to do this to see? They might cancel your current ressie and rebook you anyway...at whatever the cost that day is. I'd probably change my ressie first so I knew exactly what I was getting into...

I've used Dollar in the past and been happy - but they run a hard sell campaign to get me to purchase insurance and such - they might see your question as an opportunity to rake in more $$$!

Good luck!

They will probably change your rate and it's possible that it won't be a better rate. I'd try to rebook first and then cancel the original.
