Looking for any recommendations for decent (and decently priced) hotels in the MCO area, with a shuttle to and from the airport. I am NOT looking at the Hyatt because it's quite a bit more than I'd want to spend for just one night, and it's just going to be me (meeting my bf at the port the next morning for the cruise). I'm going to do some online searching, but would love to hear opinions from all of you who cruise frequently and stay at the airport hotels. I just need a safe and clean place to crash for the night as I'm probably going to take a late flight into MCO and want to get back to the airport fairly early to get the DCL bus to the port. Definitely want an airport shuttle... Free breakfast, pools, restaurants, etc are not important (figured I can pick up dinner and breakfast at the airport). Any recommendations? Much appreciated!

Not to sound rude, but it might help others if you give an idea of the price you are willing to pay.

Sure! About $100-$120ish including taxes. I just looked at the holiday inn and holiday inn express... Might be good options?

I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but it sounds like your standards - safe, clean, inexpensive - are similar to mine. Have you considered hotwire or priceline to get a room near MCO? Hotwire will list an airport shuttle in their list of amenities...and if you use priceline, the money you save on the room would more than pay for a 1-2 mile cab ride if there's no shuttle at the hotel you get assigned to....

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites 3 times. very close, clean, only a few years old and most of the time below the dollar amount you mentioned. we'll be there this saturday before we get on the Magic on Sunday

I second the Hampton Inn. I think it's just fine for an overnight stay.

We had to change flights a few years ago and ended up at the Hampton. For an overnight stay, they are clean and safe. They had free breakfast and an airport shuttle when we stayed. If we couldn't do the Hyatt, Hampton is on the short list of hotels we would consider.

La Quinta. I haven't checked prices there lately or stayed in a few years, but it was decent and had a free shuttle. Nothing fancy at all and probably well in that price range.

Have you tried booking the Hyatt through LastMinuteTravel. I used it and was able to get the room for $75 less than the published rate. Having stayed at the Hyatt on our last cruise I personally wouldn't stay anywhere else, especially since I'm traveling with young kids. Taking an elevator up to the hotel from baggage claim and then not having to worry about your luggage until you are on the cruise ship is worth a lot to me.

Heres the trick to know which hotel you are booking.

You'll need 2 browser windows open

Browser 1
Search on lastminutetravel.com for your city/dates
Click on or hold your cursor over the Book It box
In the middle of the URL you will see HotelID= (take note of these numbers)

Browser 2
Go to their parent site Tourico Holidays
In the URL replace what is currently there with the number you found above
If you book through the lastminutetravel link, this is the hotel you will get

The Hyatt MCO is ID 2825

Do you know whether I could book two rooms this way? I've never used that site. And is it only for truly last minute travel or can you actually book in advance? We're booked at Homewood Suites in August the night before we sail, which is very nice and has two bedrooms, two baths for 6 of us. But if I could get two rooms at the Hyatt for nearly the price I'm paying I'd do that in a heartbeat for the sheer convenience.

You book it in advance. I booked my room for June a few months ago. I assume you can book 2 rooms but have never tried it for myself. Good luck!

Why do you need to go to both sites? Which one do you book from?

You book on Lastminutetravel. since its simiar to priceline, you can't see the name of the hotel you are booking just that its a 4 star hotel in the airport. The trick to assure yourself that you are getting the hyatt is to go on the other website and look up the hotel id number for positive confirmation that it is indeed the hyatt.

We love the Embassy Suites at MCO. Nice, clean, manager's reception and free breakfast! :)

It now makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
