Cast of Characters: Tammi & Jim (mom-dad), Meg (16), Colin (12) and Casey (6). Our 13th trip to WDW
Casey and I decided to use our flex feature on a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We woke up before everyone else and headed downstairs. It was still early and the restaurant was fairly quiet, so Pooh made it around to us a few times. My DD was just in love with him. We had been eating breakfast in the concierge lounge all week and I must say that the made to order omelette was just delicious. I found myself filling my plate with french toast, bacon, potatoes, cheese blintzes.... so yummy. Again, Casey was just too excited to eat very much. She got to meet Alice, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Rabbit.
We finally met up with the rest of the family and took the bus over to MGM. It was a bit misty in the morning, so the park was very quiet. Our initial plan was to spend the entire day here and finish up the night with Fantasmic. We headed right over to ToT and RnR. Decided to fp RnR as there was only a 15 minute stand by for ToT. I was very surprised that Casey wanted to go on this ride. My son wouldn't try it until he was 10, but she is the dare devil in the family. She informed us that maybe she wouldn't want to go on it again, but she'd at least try it one time. When we got seated in the ride, Jim was looking around for his safety bar. Oh no, said the CM, you get to ride with only a seat belt. He loved it though. When we saw the picture, he had his eyes shut tight and a look of stark terror on his face After finishing that ride, we were still about 25 minutes away from fp time. We decided to walk over and check it out, as Casey was right at that 48" mark. Stand by was 25 minutes, so we all figured, what the heck, lets do stand by and then hop right back into line with our fp's. We made it through all the CM checkpoints with Casey and she got to ride it. I sat next to her and I know I was screaming, but I think she was in too much shock to do anything. As soon as the ride was over though, she looked up and asked if we could do it again. Second time through, she relaxed and was screaming and laughing just as much as me.
Meagan really wanted to do the Inside Animation tour that they've offered in the past, but during our trip, it was still discontinued. She decided to take the regular tour, so we split up and waited for the next Little Mermaid show. As we were looking around the area though, we saw Lilo and Stitch and were able to get autographs and photo's. Timing was perfect and just as we were exiting the Little Mermaid, Meagan came out of her tour. Jim was pushing for Muppets 3D next, so we headed back through Hollywood Junction. Casey was so happy, because she was finally able to get Tiggers autograph. They had many characters here throughout the day. Only a short wait at Muppets. That is such a cute show.
By now, we were getting hungry. Colin still really wanted to do Star Tours, so as we passed that area, the kids got fp's. We ate lunch right next door at the Backlot Express. Jim and I waited while all 3 kids went on Star Tours. I don't know what it is with that one, but it gives us both motion sickness, so we skip it when we can. As I said, we had every intention of spending the day here, but when we took a family vote, the majority wanted to head back to the hotel and swim.
Jim headed over to the spa for a while and I was lucky enough to get a cabana by the pool. The kids swam right through the afternoon rain storms. Now it was decision time again, should we go back to MGM for Fantasmic or hop on the monorail over to MK for our last night. Everyone voted for MK, so we grabbed a quick dinner at Gasparilla's and headed over. Casey finally got to have Tinkerbell fly right over her head during the fireworks, so her vacation was now complete.
