Cast of Characters: Tammi & Jim (mom-dad), Meg (16), Colin (12) and Casey (6). Our 13th trip to WDW
Sunday 7/28: Had a great night's sleep. Our room contained 2 double beds and a day bed. DH loves to keep the temperature just above that of a meat locker, so we just snuggled close. We awoke at about 7am, it must of been the excitement of the first day. Casey dressed in her brand new Cinderella gown as we were having breakfast at the castle this morning. The older kids decided to have a leisurely breakfast in the concierge lounge and head into the park later. The character caravan was coming to the GF this morning also and Colin didn't want to miss that.
Took the monorail over to the MK. The security lines moved very quickly. We checked in at a turnstile with a PS sign in front of it and we headed over to the castle. We were seated immediately and ordered our breakfast selection. Casey had barely touched her food when the princess's started arriving. Our table was the first stop for each of them. We saw Mary Poppins, Aurora, Belle, Snow White and of course Cinderella. Jim and I enjoyed our meal, but Casey was too excited to eat more than a mouthful. It was kind of strange how they did the bill, because we had to pay a deposit on our credit card when we booked. When our server presented the bill, it was for the full amount. I asked him about it and he said that we just needed to tell him how we were going to handle the bill and we would only be charged for the balance due. We met the fairy godmother on our way out and made it to the entrance of Fantasyland just as Mickey and Minnie were coming through.
Casey made it onto all the rides in Fantasyland and we saw Eeyore on the Pooh ride. We were already heading over to Tomorrowland by 10am. Buzz only had a 15 minute wait, so we took on some space aliens and boy was my hand tired after that ride! CoP was open, so we went on that for old times sake. Unfortunately, there was a screaming infant behind us who cried through the entire ride. We met up with Meg and Colin in the Merchant of Venus shop. Jim went looking for a new hat, so the kids and I did the Magic Carpets again. Aladdin was there and we got his autograph.
We headed back to the hotel at about 11:30. The kids took a dip in the pool to cool off while I called housekeeping for a refrigerator in the room. I don't know how many bottles of water we bought in MK today, but I decided for $2.50 each, I was going to incorporate a trip to Goodings into my plans for this evening.
My dad and grandfather drove over from Rockledge for a visit and we spent the afternoon with them. Had a late lunch at Gasparilla's. The food was good, but it's counter service. We had planned on eating in the Cafe, but they closed at 3pm. Fast food was our only option unless we wanted to try another hotel.
An early evening shower hit, and the kids really wanted to hit DisneyQuest, so we got the car. I was able to pick up water from Goodings. I think I paid $3.99 for a six pack. Quite a difference, plus I don't like the taste of Zepphylis water, yuck. We all decided to visit DisneyQuest and all I can say is that is 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back. The two older kids loved it, but I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
We ended our evening by sitting in the concierge lounge, eating pastry and drinking coffee laced with Bailey's. The band was still playing on the floor below us. Walked back to our room and had an amazing view of the fireworks. Casey went to sleep with some pixie dust from the fairy godmother sprinkled under her pillow.
