This is a vent but not what you think:

Raise your hand if you know that eating at McDonalds on a regular basis is not your healthiest option? go ahead...I'll give you a chance... :rolleyes1

Okay, see I knew there were lots of smart people on the DIS...so what's my vent about you ask?

Why did they have to go and put the stupid nutrional information on the wrappers? What ever happend to "available upon request"? If I'm eating at MickeyD's I know it is not a healthy choice but it is my choice and i don't need to be reminded how many calories and fat grams are in my double cheesburger (from the $1 menu) and my fries!!!! :furious:

I don't drink (much) and I don't smoke (anything) and work for a living so I'm a decent human being and if I want to eat something not good for me...please let me do it in peace without reminding me of how bad it is for me.

ugh!!! :furious:

thank you for allowing me to gripe :teeth:

So they wont get sued for making anyone fat.

Sadly

I sure was shocked the day I looked at the fry container and saw nutritional information, it was eye opening!

Well then...I guess it's high time you switch to a healthier option....like Kentucky Fried Chicken or Burger King!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

OR....chocolate!!!

Sadly

just what I was going to say.

Since one or two idiots decide to sue, the lawyers probably told McD's that they no longer have the "request" option.

We could all send a thank you card to those few idiots who have now made our lives a little more miserable. Just a thought. ;)

I totally understand what you are saying. I haven't been to McDonald's since they started that, though. But I know that when they had the nutritional value avail upon request, I could never get the info. But what I have noticed every time I have been to McDonald's in the past year or so, is that they have had the pamphlets that state the nutritional values in them. I look at one everytime I order something. The only problem I found with those is they didn't list any "new," "seasonal," or regional items.

But I can say this, I can totally see my boyfriend getting a cheeseburger from McDonald's and I say to him "ewww look at all that fat!"

Please don't flame me. :(

I need that eye opener , some people just don't realize what they are eating. Sometimes it is hard to find the calorie charts in most stores. It is also good to teach your kids what they are eating. If you don't like it don't read it , look away.......We in Canada don't have that yet so I hope they bring it here.

With doing Weight Watchers I already knew that stuff, but to see it staring at you while you're ready to chow down is a bit of a downer. I still go to McD's on WW. I eat a Happy Meal and drink water, this way I still get my junk food fix in once in awhile.

I think I'm taking a drive to Canada next time the kiddos want some McDonalds! :rotfl:

I actually like it also. I don't eat there, but my dd does like it occasionally. Recently she has taken to reading me the nutritional content of the food when I let her have it. It is an eye opener to her. She especially can't believe how much sodium is in it. She is very into nutrition. She is 9. I think it is good for her to see that is really isn't healthy to eat often. Use it only as a special treat.

Zuzugal- We also don't have the same sizes as you guys. Our regular fries are really your small and we don't have a super size like yours. When we are in the U.S we can't believe the sizes.......

Wow!! These are some fast responses!!

I figured it was because people sued and I understand people wanting to know what's in it...but I think having to look at it while I eat it is just uncool!! :)

I know people like to know what they eat and that's good....but for me I'd rather hear about all the violence in the world and NOT have to know what's in my food!!

So my options are...move to Canada or go to Burger King or KFC!! :rotfl: I guess from now on I will take my own paper to wrap my burger in and throw their paper away!!

Pooh...I feel your pain!!! :)

You know what, I don't want to know either. I know it's bad. REALLY bad for me. It is still yummy and since we don't go but maybe once a month I don't care.

I haven't seen the new wrappers and I don't think I want too!

You don't HAVE to eat the fries. I know...totally unrealistic. ;)

I smoked for 20 years with stupid warnings on the box. The trick is to not look at them. :)

I haven't noticed them. :confused3 We don't eat at McDonalds much anyways, but when we do it is a treat, so I am not too concerned about eating a high fat meal now and then. I actually ate there for lunch today, but I had a Fruit and Walnut salad, for the first time. I will honestly say, I actually enjoyed that more than I would a cheeseburger and fries, it was really good.

I eat their salads, I love their Asian Chicken salad :thumbsup2

:confused3 But I have nooo idea about the nutrional value of it?
