McDonalds Runaway Railway

My McDonald's (NY) didn't have them today!!!

I didn't even realize that's what was included until I saw this! My dd just said hey I got a Mickey the other night :)

I kinda want these. I haven't ordered a Happy Meal in forever - how do they give them out - is it random or like different ones as the weeks progress?

DD wants them, but she can't eat the things in the Happy Meal, so she will see if they will sell them (they used to)

I was hoping there was a Mansion one in the bunch. My eye is on the Mickey and Minnie car, and the Tower of Terror.

Each week (or so) is a new one or at least that's how it typically is at ours. We always order 2 HMs at a time and it is always the same toy in each.

Any strategy advice from someone who has collected from McDonalds before? I never have, but I'd really like the full collection! And this is for ME, not for my 4, 9, 13 yo - LOL. They will loose these in a second. I'd love the full collection in my office to spark a little joy. Anyway, my son and I went for Happy Meals today as a treat because he has a 1/2 day of school, and I thought it was a chance to get 2 different ones. When I asked they said they had all the same ones. We got Jungle Cruise. That's fine, but hoping to get Soarin, TOT, and Everest.

I guess McDonalds gets a whole new set each week?

This is ridiculous I'm even entertaining this. We rarely eat Fast Food, and even more rarely eat McDonalds. I got sucked in my marketing (which is funny since marketing is my career - I should know better). Eating McDonalds weekly seems like a bad idea!

I have gotten three different (train, rocket, boat) from 3 McDonalds but as an earlier poster stated ordering 2 meals in one visit resulted in a duplicate.

FYI - These are already on Ebay. Full set of 10 current bid is $53.00, and a "Buy It Now" for $60 plus $8.00 shipping. Geesh.

I’m not sure how much a happy meal is but I’m guessing about five bucks each. So $50 would get you the set assuming you would get a different one in each set. $60 for a complete set seems reasonable, assuming that $60 for a set of plastic toys is reasonable in itself. The Disney marketing is good!

I keep meaning to go but the drive-thru lines are always long and the dining area is only for pick-up orders.
Good news is, a local thrift store usually has bags of various fast food toys for sale, many still in their packages.
If anyone's local thrift store is similar, you may get a bunch dirt cheap without having to buy meals or pay Ebay prices. Granted, it's hit or miss and the wait/demand is what it is.

I checked yesterday and they didn't have them yet! Will try again next week. I really only want the TOT one, so I'm hopeful I can snag it at some point.

Between my husband, my daughter (away at school) and myself, we got 3 different toys yesterday. They really are cute. They hook together as a train and each car has something that moves when the train is pulled along. Loving the Jungle Cruise boat that moves to reveal a hippo underneath. We also got Goofy in the locomotive and Mickey in the Mission Space rocket.

DD checked here and the sign is up, but they aren't available yet

You could phone the McDonald’s ahead of time to see what they have. Also, ask when they transition to the next toy and go that day or the next. Going twice a week might work, if you really want to eat that much McDonald’s.

Also, ask if you have to buy a happy meal or if you can just buy the toy. Maybe buy a coffee and a toy or a fries and a toy.
