DINING

When you get hungry, the resort has its own giant sports themed food court, called Intermission Food Court, and is located in the Melody Hall building adjacent to the main lobby. With more than 5 outlets to choose from, it is a perfect choice for everyone, especially since most people have different cravings and tastes. The food court offers American cuisine, such as breakfast items, burgers and fries, chicken, pasta, pizza, and more, as well as drinks and desserts. The food court also sells the re-fillable mugs (only to be used at the resort you are staying at, and are also available at the Maestro Mickey's store), and is a great choice for those looking to save even more money, as guests pay a one-time fee for the mug and can re-fill at any one of the drink stations in the food court, as many times as they want during their stay.

Guests who feel like eating off of the resort property, while still staying within the Walt Disney World resort, there is a very large McDonald's restaurant just a short drive away from the resort, that offers all the usual McDonald's menu items, with a huge screen t.v. (it is actually multiple screens that are combined) that shows Disney movies and Disney-Pixar movies while you eat, and is a perfect way to keep the kiddies occupied while you order, or you can just go through the drive-thru and order. Just a reminder though, and being that the restaurant is huge, they are extremely busy, all of the time. There are more registers than the usual McDonald's restaurant has, so that is a good thing, and they move the customers out rather quickly. They are also pricier than the neighborhood McDonald's, although not by much, especially depending on where you live, where the prices may be higher than here.

My daughter and I walked to the McDonald's from All Star Sports Resort. It isn't real far and it is kind of fun. This McDonald's isn't your normal McDonald's. They actually had some gourmet options. You do have to cross a four lane.

U R A BRAVE COOKIE THERE!!! :scared1::)

:) yes it is on the Main Road into the resort area. I wouldn't try to walk to it though. There is a sidewalk that CMs use from a nearby CM parking lot to the resorts...but with all the buses and stuff I wouldn't feel realy comfy.

I used to be the largest McDonald's in the USA. I think there was even a fireplace in it. It was so long ago and it has been updated since then.

The McDonalds is 1.3 miles from the ASMU lobby. There is a sidewalk all the way there, so it is walkable.
You will undoubtedly drive right past it when arriving at the AllStar resorts.

There is a Mcdonalds right next to the hotels, nut they are far from normal priced! I was surprised to say the least.

Thanks! I know we will probably eat there at least once during our stay. Our family has always loved McDonald's, thats our favorite restaurant so we try to stick with our favorites vacation or no. Im glad that it is within walking distance and I half expected to pay more than usual price given they target Disney Tourists probably. lol

I think you may be referring to the McDonalds on International Drive and Sand lake road closer to Universal that's been on those shows on Travel Channel several times.It however isn't the biggest and never was it just has been referred to as the World's Largest entertainment and playplace.The franchisee who owns this one also has several other highly themed McDonalds in the Orlando area but the one by the All Stars isn't one of them.Here's a link to his restaurants.You can click on the locations to get some photos of the restaurants.

In 2008 while staying at the All Star Movies, I did the good hubby thing and walked there to get my :worship: wife and grandson something. Even though we had the meal plan, they felt the need/mood for something from the "other" Big M...;)

We were on the meal plan too but my daughter saw the front of that McDonald's from the bus and really wanted to see it in person. Plus I think she was hungry for some "normal" food. While I can enjoy prime rib, steak and the other wonder fare of the WDW restaurants all the time... She wanted a normal cheeseburger. Go figure.

You can't really miss it coming up to the entrance to the All Stars. We ate there once this past December. Prices were a little (ok a lot) higher ( no dollar menu, lol). But it was exceptionally clean & service was great.
