I'm sure I read somewhere about a McDonalds close enough to ASMo to walk to, but I can't find the details again.
Is this correct and can anyone give me directions? Is it a safe walk, I will be pushing a wheelchair?

It is at least a mile or better from
ASMo and no it is not a safe walk.

It's probably between 1/4 and 1/2 mile from Music. I would have walked it the last time we were there but I was buying for 7 and didn't want to tote all that so I drove. Once you get past the security check point I'm pretty sure there's no sidewalk, it's a straight walk up the road the busses take into the resorts and straight across the street at the light. You'll see it right there every time you enter or leave AllStar.

Yes there is a McDonald's just outside the grounds of the All Star Resorts complex.

It is *possible* to walk there, but I'm not sure I'd want to do that. Someone else may know for sure if there are sidewalks the entire way there, but I'm guessing there isn't.

no sidewalks. the road is very busy. walking is not a good idea. you would be walking along a road with no shoulder.

There are walking paths from AS sports to McDonalds. and then there are sidewalks along the street. We walked there last trip with a wheelchair without a problem and would do it again.
This is probable the only place at WDW that you can walk to.
As it was stated before it is a little bit of a walk but doable.
Part of the sidewalk though is shared with gas carts that the warehouse uses so becareful there. :pug:

I walked it from AllStar Sports with a 4 year old in a stroller (in case he got too tired.... he was WAY too heavy to carry for me....).

I never felt that the traffic was an issue, but I did stay a bit too long and finished the walk as the sun was going down... it was a bit scary. I was VERY glad to be back on WDW property... :grouphug:

Take my advise and don't go there. It is the worst McDonalds I have ever been in. Servers don't understand english and are slower then a walk to China. And then they screw up the order. Of couse this is only my personal option.

We eat at that McDonald's pretty frequently. It is a good walk from All Stars and I wouldn't venture it myself if I was pushing a wheel chair. Not sure if the side walks have ramps or straight curb?? We drive there each time. As for messing up orders, we've never had a problem and we always ask for special orders since I have a picky son. The kids like it because they get to watch a Disney movie on the big screen while they eat. The only thing I do not like about that McDonalds is the set up of the dessert counter. It is separate and you can wait forever for someone to wait on you for an icecream. They have flavored swirl soft serve, in addition to the McFlurries and sundaes.

Very close by car, but not so much for walking. I don't remember seeing any sidewalks. I would not push a chair on those roads - they are busy and people driving on them may be looking at maps or road signs and not see you...

I kind of liked the McDonald's. It was cleaner than most, and I haven't ever had a problem with the staff. But it is more expensive than regular McDonald's.

Yes, there is a full sidewalk, and yes you can easily do it. I have done it pushing a wheelchair, and from ASMu it takes about 10-15 minutes. AS Sp is closer, and ASMo is further. The sidewalk is a winding disney style sidewalk, but quite flat. I didn't notice any rises or dips, so it's ok for wheelchairs. Just cross at the lights and you will be ok. :duck:

When we stayed at AS Sports a couple of years ago there was a family in front of us in line at guest services asking about how to walk to McDonald's. The CM said he would not suggest them walking there since you have to cross the road and there are many out of towner's who are busy looking at maps and for signs and aren't alert to people walking. He suggested to take the bus from All Stars to Downtown Disney where there is a McDonald's and from there you can get transportation anywhere so all in all it saves time over walking to and from the McDonald's near the All Star Resorts. Of course my youngest ds heard this so guess where we ate when we went to Downtown Disney? :teeth: I must admit it was good (clean, hot food, courteous service) as far as McD's go.

We stopped by that one once and it will be our last trip. It took over an hour to get our food from the time we got there. The majority was waiting in line to place our order. The food wasn't worth the wait and the servers weren't that polite either.
