McDonald's is phasing out self service drinks...by 2032.

It’s not necessarily that people hate successful people. It’s that people don’t want to be exploited by corporations to make those wealthy people even wealthier and thus fund their vanity projects when they can barely support themselves and their families as it is. You don’t get to be where those multibillionaire CEOs are without stepping on the “little people”.

Some people just hate successful people, it is what it is. I love successful (wealthy) people, because I have never had an unsuccessful (broke) person to give me a job before.

There are still massive opportunities in this country right now. I have a good friend whose parents were immigrants. He has an incredible work ethic and is a master house framer. He out earns me by a significant margin even with no formal education. He learned a skill that is in high demand, and he is killing it. I am so proud of him and his growing family.
I too know someone whose family were immigrants (from Pakistan) and is too successful and way out earns us (loves to buy corvettes too)...does that mean something? Nope it really doesn't, because the realities of the world aren't that way. You can be happy to see someone's success in the midst of adversity AND realize how things are for many people these days. Those who stick their head in the sand choose to see the "pull up your bootstrap" story (usually their own) and think that's just how it is for everyone else.

Success is good and commendable. Greed is not.

So let’s follow that through…

Don’t want to pay that? Un franchise. Become a no-name fast food joint that has to come up with their own recipes, marketing, decor, machines, etc. Keep paying yourself that low $150k/yr, and now you can suddenly pay your employees more, right? Except now you have to pay for all that stuff that the franchise does for that fee you pay. And you’re right back where you were.

But it’s always the executives fault for making money. I get it.
Yeah, we get your attitude too.

As long as the executives get their cushy salaries and bonuses, who gives a damn about the lowly workers making peanuts.
