Does anyone know when the McDonald's Halloween coupon books are coming out? I called 3 different McDonald's and they all told me that their manager wasn't there and they had no idea! I sent an email to corporate and they told me each McDonald's does their own promotions. So I have had no luck so far! My daughter's birthday is on Friday and they aren't allowed to bring in cupcakes or anything for their birthday. So I wanted to give out the McDonald's coupons since I don't know what else to do in place of treats. So if anyone has any idea as to when the books come out that would be great!

Thanks!

I actually stopped by there this morning for a mocha frappe and they had them. I think it was a sheet of 12 for $1. I didn't buy them but I saw the flyer was posted on the window.

Thanks! I'll have to stop by tomorrow for one of their berry smoothies and pick them up! thanks again!

If the school isn't allowing anything for birthdays you might want to find out if they will even let your daughter give out the coupons first. DS school was the same and they didn't want the class disrupted for birthday stuff period food or not.

DS's kindergarten teacher is encouraging pencils, erasers or stickers since they can't bring in food treats. Just a thought in case the school doesn't allow the treat coupons.

The rule is just for food. They can bring in little goodie bags with pencils, or whatever in them so the coupons are fine. My daughter has more pencils then we know what to do with so that is why I'm not doing pencils. So I'm going to do the coupon and a Halloween eraser in a small bag.

Last year one kid gave out flip flops! They got them at the Old Navy 1.00 flip flop sale that was really cool but I'm not that creative!

The book is like a dollar and you get maybe 10-12 coupons for a free ice crea, free milk, free juice. Its as good deal. We don't have a Wendy's near by but I know they have ones for Frosty's I think?

thanks again

Wow no food? Back in elementary school '96 on halloween we had so many snacks it was unreal!

Is it just here in WI or did they raise the prices of these? Today I picked up some for my kids and I always remember them being $1 for the pack of 12 and now they are $2 for 12...they were $1 for as long as I can remember and i remember my mother getting these for my sister and I are children so that's gotta be well over 15 yrs

I went to 3 different ones and none of them have the coupons. I guess I'll have to come up with something else!

That's terrible! Kids are only kids once, they should be allowed to celebrate, even if it does disrupt the class for a few minutes. So sad.

To OP: I've been waiting for our McDonalds to have them too. I was there earlier this week and didn't see any signs up yet, but it seems to me they didn't have them last year until about the second week of October.

AMEN! I can't imagine being a kid in school now. We had parties for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, you name it! My school actually celebrated all of the Holidays through Senior year, including Halloween. We had costume contests, trick-or-treating, cookie swaps, song contests.

As for the non-food gifts, you can also purchase small gift cards and Target has great in-expensive gifts in front of the store. Good luck!

Just a thought - try calling a Wendy's. Ours usually have a coupon book for free frosties at the holidays.

OP, noticed you are in NJ and have a no-treat school. We're in PA and have had the same thing for a few year. Is this just a Mid-Atlantic thing, or are other schools doing away with treats too.

I get rather frustrated when I am expected to run around making goodie bags for an entire class rather than just bringing in a few cupcakes....

Does anyone know the expiration date on them? In May they had "School's Out" ones and they had a date of late 2011 so I stocked up! They were a pain to find, I even went back to the same location and tried to order them at the drive-up, the order taker had no clue what I was talking about. When I got up to the window, they had one taped up on display showing they were for sale! :sad2:

Has anyone tried redeeming the coupons at the McD's at LBV (Crossroads)? I have a ton good for a milk or juice box that will still be good on my next trips.

EDIT- I was wrong, the actually expire 12/31/2013!!!

NJ class mom here.. .and we still have school parties... with treats... candy and games:cheer2:

I wound up doing the Wendy's coupon for the free Frosty's even though we don't have a Wendy's in our town. There is one in the next town in the mall so I figured that wasn't so bad. Then I got 2 packs of Halloween erasers (12 in a pack) at the dollar store and a few Halloween silly bands and made little bags. So my daughter handed those out and read a book to the class.

For the holiday parties now that they can't have food they usually have them make a little craft or something or they play a game. Not real exciting anymore!

Thanks everyone! Now I have to do goody bags for her actual birthday party, it never ends!
