The adult Happy Meals have just arrived here. I got one tonight to see what they are about. I would like to challenge any one who is interested to wear their Stepometer (or any other pedometer) while on vacation and report back how far they walked in how many days. We don't go to WDW until September but DH & I will have to start walking before our trip to keep up with the kids. I plan to keep track of that, for us, too.

Any takers? :hyper:

I'm considering getting one of these for our Colorado trip...

Adult Happy Meal??? What???

What is it? What is it???? (Hey, Planogirl... I see you have the hots for VampHeartless... Is he aware of this?? :p )

LOL Jolie. I think that he's aware of it. The tag fairy went a little haywire recently. Most of the people ended up having the hots for Robin except when Vamp commented that no one seemed to have the hots for him, I ended up being the lucky one. I guess that I'd better remove it before people start to wonder but then I'll lose all my tags! :(

I don't know much about the adult happy meal except that it's supposed to be only healthy food. I'm real curious cause they have yummy salads now.

I need to get one for my DC trip this summer. We aren't renting a car, so I should really rack up the miles.

bought one today at lunch...

the pedometer was very cool... don't know if it counts steps accurately tho... I wore it around the house as I hobbled.. seemed high for step#.. but dd took it as she walked the dog for an hour and it came out about right for the usual distance she and friends walk about.....

as for the lunch itself..

MC DONALDS COBB SALAD----NASTIEST FAST FOOD SALAD I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE!!!!
I prefer Wendy's Spring Mix Salad.... superior imho

I can't stand Cobb Salad. I like McD's chicken garden salad with that terribly unhealthy Newman's Own Ranch dressing. :)

I had one yesterday and I liked it. I got the grilled bacon ranch ( I eat low carb).
The adult happy meal is your choice of any McD's salad a bottle of water and you get a pedometer.
I'm gonna wear my pedometer to work tonight to see how much I walk around there.

We've had several pedometers and I don't think any of them have been accurate. The last one we bought was from Sharper Image and we used it to check our mileage as we walked in the mall. Well, of course the distance around the mall is the same every time you walk it, but we never got the same reading on the pedometer. (not even close)

I just got a adult happy meal the other day. I got the grilled chicken and bacon salad. It was pretty good and i thought there was a lot of salad to it too. As for the pedometer--i gave it to my kids because i didn't think it was very accurate, but i think it depends on where you wear them at too. I want to get a better one as i need to start walking!

I have a digiwalker and it's pretty acurate. I didn't get the McD's one, though I have tried their Fiesta Salad and enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed their other food. I aim for 10,000 steps (and generally reach it), but it would be much higher at WDW.

The adult meal they are offering here is one "big" salad (Caesar, Bacon Ranch, CA Cobb, or Fiesta), a bottle of water, and the stepometer. The meal is $4.99 ($3.99 salad, $0.89 water, $0.11 meter) and you can pay extra to get a different drink. I got the Bacon Ranch w/grilled chicken and took it home to put my own salad dressing on it. It comes in a cardboard box w/handles on top. This is info that comes with the meter (how to change batteries & instructions) that state roughly 2,000 steps=1 mile, one city block=approximately 200 steps, you can take about 1,200 steps in 10 minutes. The meters come in a variety of colors. My teens thought it was "cool" so thought I would take advantage of their interest and work this into our vacation.

The box lists a web site for info: www.goactive.com

I wore mine at work last night, just for kicks, and I took 11,765 steps in 12 hours.. It seemed right to me....well, actually, kind of low. My dogs were barking pretty hard this morning!

One something I heard about the McD's pedometer is that if you shake them too hard, they'll up the count on you. Not too stable. I don't have one to check it out, but I thought I'd mention it.
