Mccain supporters do the right thing

When some obama haters passed out info and implied Obama was muslim outside of a mccain rally, some honorable Mccain supporters stood up fpr what was right and told them that their anti muslim message was not wanted !!

(sadly I have seen Mccain supporters here on the dis with siggies that implied the same and I did not see any Mccain supporter come forward to correct them... too bad)

Thanks for posting about this, ankhenaten. I'm glad to see people letting the fringe know that they are not helping.

I really liked the positive tone, and sorry to have to go on to the "other" issue, but the poster you are all referring to is not a "fanatical Republican" by any stretch of the imagination, and has already both said and put a disclaimer in her sig to reiterate that she hadn't even noticed the Muslim symbology in her sig picture and picked it out after a prolonged time looking at clip art because she agreed with the wording. Please just give it a rest. She is aware that Obama is not a Muslim plant, she just likes the verbage used under the name. If any of you are good with Photoshop, which I am not, perhaps you would offer to fix it for her instead of continuing to call her out about it? Wouldn't that be a really nice across-the-aisle gesture? Being sincere here.

It's my understanding that WebmasterKathy has already ruled on this....I don't know why it keeps being brought up.

OP, I hope your thread is not a roundabout way of reopening a closed thread. Just watching out for you, but when I first read it - well, some might think that's the case. Especially since a lot of posts afterwards are leading us in this direction.

no not at all....in fact I was not online that weekend....
only saw her sigg when I read on the con thread... and saw several posters there say they were not offended... I could tell by the tone that there had been a post..but I never saw it....

just brought it up because of the similarities..... between the bumper stickers that were being sold....and the sigg.

Thank you...and it was a good reminder to me also..that there are many, many mccain supporters.... who are not into the hate!
I have seen too much of it... a vocal minority I am sure.....

The hate people are getting all the attention. I am not that blind to think most McCain supporters are that evil. There are a handful of crazy in both parties.(hence my independence party membership where we're ALL CRAZY )

Great article and a way to see that this can be about issues not personal attacks! Bravo for those McCain supporters for standing up for what they know is right.

I think many on both side need to step back and really analize their actions....

Wise words! I have read the most horrible, hate filled posts on these political threads. It's very sad and some people should be ashamed of themselves!
