John McCain needs to ride in on his white horse and save us all from economic collapse, and he feels the debate needs to be postponed for the national interest...then why does he have time to appear on cbs last night, clinton intiative today, abc, nbc, cbs, and cnn tonight....but does not have time to debate for 90 minutes tommorow. I thought he was susepnding his campaign, then why is sarah palin out on the trail today, and why are all of his campaign offices open for business today....One word LIAR!!

McCain to do round of network interviews tonight

John McCain will appear on all three network newscasts tonight, a top aide said.

McCain is at the White House meeting with President Bush, Barack Obama and congressional leaders now and will tape interviews with NBC, ABC and CBS after the West Wing session.

McCain also appeared in a taped interview last night with Katie Couric on CBS.

Aides are still in wait-and-see mode on whether they'll attend the debate but are prepared to have the candidate jet down to Memphis, the closest major airport to Oxford, as late as tomorrow afternoon if a deal is reached.

UPDATE: Barack Obama will also appear on all three network newscasts tonight, aides said.

The presence of both candidates on the national news underscores just how intent each is on staying visible and appearing engaged as the federal government crafts a massive bailout of Wall Street.

Not to mention that the Dems are all saying there was a deal until he showed up.........

Wrong time to play politics right now........ imho

Calm down, there are newsrooms in DC too. Interviews can be conducted in Washington. Geez, it isn't like he's having a campaign rally. He said that if an agreemnet is reached, he'll fly to Mississippi.
BTW, the title should be:

gmboy95 outrage

because McCain is not outraged, you are.

shouldn't he be in negotiations as we speak instead of trying to score points on the network news......McCain is ending his political career in a blaze of mediocrity, and I am afraid he will always be remebered for his behavior this past couple of weeks

He is in negotiations. He has not done ANY interviews on any news networks at all this evening.

Yeash -- the Dems had a deal worked out with themselves...

The hard-core repubs in t he house do not want EARMARKS on this bailout bill. ENOUGH with the earmarks!!!

Just pass the bailout, with oversight and a requirement to pay it back and not just put the money in the geral gund and the the Repubs will sign off. Isn't $700 Billion enough without putting on more EARMARKS!

Each side is talking about the "secretive" meetings. You just need to seek out all the reports, and choose the ones you believe are the most accurate.

From what I've read and heard on the news shows tonight - a deal was agreed in principle. Reluctantly by the republicans who feel their president has really boxed them in to go against their "free market, small government principles", and proudly by the Democrats who worked hard to put tax payer protections in it, including bipartisan regulation.

Then McCain campaign comes in - and the deal is off. Not only that -- but with a counter proposal that no one ever looked at and which contains LESS REGULATION.

Sorry - but I tend to agree with all the Democratic quotes. The Republicans are trying NOT to be bipartisan at all - but to have the democrats completely responsible for this semi-unpopular bailout - for a crisis that was caused on during a Republican Administration (even if a prior administration's policies 7 years ago contributed to this crisis - those in charge should have seen it coming).

McCain should have given his opinion through congressional channels and not politicized this debate <- again, my humble opinion.......
