I read some earlier questions about shoes and cannot find the one I am looking for, but a responder said they only wear their MBT's. I looked them on the web link www.swissmasaius.com and have researched the web site. I sustained a foot injury and the web site said their shoes are great for people who suffer from plantar fascitis, which I developed after the injury. I currently live in MA and am moving in August to Fort Knox KY. There are no retailers who carry them here in MA and I e-mailed a question to the company and they said to find a place to try them on as they are very different from any other shoe and I do not want them to slip. I typically wear a size 6 tennis shoe. The ones I want are the Sport White. There is a couple of locations that carry the MBT's in Louisville KY so I could get up there in Mid-August. However, I will only be in KY for 3 weeks before I head to Disney and I am nervous they will not have the style I want in stock, in my size. They have them on line at Dillards.com Can someone tell me their experience with this and make a recommendation? I want to order them as they have my size...or at least the size I think I will need so I can get used to them before my Disney trip. However, if it is an absolute must that I try them on first I will have to wait until August. My concern is that I will not have enough time to adjust to them before the trip. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just try them on while you are in KY. Three weeks is PLENTY of time for them to get your size sent to you if they don't have them. If they can't then, once you know your size, you can order them online for yourself. You can always pay a bit more for expedited shipping if you're concerned about the time crunch.

They don't really take "breaking in" as much as you need to just practice walking in them b/c they have unique rolling soles and some people have trouble balancing. I have both the sport tennis shoes and the sandals and, really, it's not that big of a deal to walk in them.

The official site used to have a chart you could print off and measure your own foot. You placed it against the wall and stood with your heels against the wall and measured. I don't know if that's still available. I've found that BOTH of my pairs run true to my normal size: I wear a 8.5 tennis shoe and wear an 8.5 in the MBTs.

Any reputable company you buy them from (Dillards or Bliss, etc.) will let you exchange. So maybe buy two pairs (ex. an 8 and and 8.5 OR and 8.5 and a 9) and return the pair that doesn't fit.

Enjoy!

Thank you very much Love Two Travel. I can't wait to get to Kentucky and see if I can get some in my size. If you read this again can you tell me something about the sandals? I had not really considered them but would love to have something for Disney in September that would not require wearing socks. Your help has been much appreciated.

Hello LoveTwoTravel. I meant to comment that I will be staying at Pop Century also from September 10-20th. Have a great trip!

I have both the MBT sports and MBT (teva looking) sandals. I have not worn the sandals at the park - I was worried about getting blisters from the spots were the straps rest. I have worn my MBT sports and I had no problems. I did not wear them everday though. I would alternate with my Disney crocs.

As the other poster mentioned, they do not have a true break in period like many shoes do. They do require practice though... you have to get use to a slight "rocking" while walking. But they do take pressure off your heals and ball of your foot.

Good luck! ;)

I wore my sandals around the house for a few days before wearing them outside. The break in period wasn't long. In fact, I couldn't bring myself to take them off--ever! I even put them on w/my pjs I loved (love) them so much.

They are great. The straps have some sort of cushiony material under the straps that makes them really comfortable.

Both my sandals and my sport tennis shoes are the same size.

I don't know MA very well but The Walking Company does have stores in MA and they carry MBT's. They also have free shipping over $100--no problem w/MBT's!! I tried them on and liked them a lot but they aren't in my budget right now. I ended up w/ECCO Yucatan sandals. Very comfy.

I wear MBT sneakers 24/7 for the past few years. They are wonderful. That said, I have never found a retailer that sells them by me. I always order from Walker's Warehouse online. They run true to sizing, however if you are ordering some of the styles that tell you order a 1/2 size or a size larger because they run smaller-LISTEN!!!! Also, I agree with a PP-MBT sneakers do not need a break in period. I didn't find I needed to get used to them either-I walked fine in them from the moment I put them on, no adjustment needed on my part.

I wore some heels today and as soon as I got home my MBT sandals went on! Ahhhhhh.....comfort!

:rotfl: I had to go to a wedding last weekend and I nearly died having to wear heels-never used to hurt my feet, but they killed me now. Those MBT's were happily waiting in the car for me!
