Okay I think I know what I'm doing but I'm figure I'd write it out and Cheshire Figment or another expert may be able to double check my logic.

I have an AP (good till next March).

I plan to go to WDW this Fall.

I am considering different options. Fall Discount Room Only, AP Discount Room Only, and FD or S/P/D if they offer it.

The room only's I totally get. It's the package I'm working on.

If they offer FD or S/P/D for the fall. I have to purchase-rackrate room/DP/ and a minimum amount of ticket days.

I will have one person with me who will need a ticket so, with the package we each get a 'ticket' for X amount of days.

I will have an AP which will be the ticket I want to use.

So I'm thinking I can:

Purchase my package, they will attach the ticket to my MB, make my FP+ selections, ADRS etc, just like normal.

BUT before I enter a park I can go to GS or a Concierge and have my package ticket removed from my MB and put on hard media ( a separate plastic ticket). That way I will use my AP as my entry during my package stay and I can save my purchased ticket for a trip AFTER my AP expires.

Is this right?

I absolutely do not want that ticket on my MB as I've read a number of threads where the ticket was used even though someone had an AP. I figure better safe than sorry. But I'm not sure they still do this with the bands (like they used to do with the KTTK cards). If they don't then I will not book a package and we'll stick to RO. But if they do still do this and the numbers work out than I'll consider the package.

1. You can make your AP your primary (top priority) ticket in MDE and make FP+ using the AP.
(You can have this done via Disney IT before your trip, if you like.)

2. You do not need to have the package ticket "removed" from anything.
You will just make that ticket a lower priority in your MDE account and
it will stay there, unused, until such time on a future trip that you'd like to use it or upgrade it.

BUT, if you'll feel better by having the ticket "removed" from your MDE account,
yes, you can have them "put it onto" a separate card.

==========

Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each fo them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed when needed.

OOPS, sorry yeah I know it's that they put it on my MDE account and the MB is just the physical representation of that. That was my worry about having it on the account and why I wanted it removed. I didn't know you could call IT, I was just going on anecdotal info from people who talked about the system taking a day from two different tickets, etc.

I would still feel better if I could remove it, but if I do go with a package I'll call IT and see what they say.

Do they have a unique phone number or is it just the generic one?

Here's my story. I was at WDW in January on a package, and upgraded my package ticket to AP. I was at WDW again in February on a package (my roommate and the others in our party needed tickets so I went along) with 2-day park hoppers. My original plan was to attach my AP to the band and prioritize it first (actually, what it would have taken was connecting my MDE account to that package reservation, because it was booked by my friend, not me). Ultimately, though, because we were six adult women doing commando park touring for those two days, I didn't want to take the extra time to figure out the details with guest services or the MDE people, so I never connected the accounts. I simply used my AP card to enter the park instead of the MB. I was still able to use the MB for FP+ at attractions, though, dining, shopping, all that.

So if I want to wear a different band each day, do I need to do anything or just grab whichever I want because they all are connected to my account?

I have an AP that was linked to my. MB in Feb. of this year. I gave a 2 day pass on a room key that I didn't link from a trip a few years ago. That ticket won't show on my band unless I enter the numbers on the back of the room key, right?
