MB shipping info ? Email ?

So Monday was the last day to customize the MB for our upcoming trip. On Tuesday the page said they were "being customized and will shipping soon".

Most people seem to have gotten them relatively soon after the "customize by" date - am I supposed to get an email with tracking info ?

I ask because I am having them shipped to a friend currently staying at a hotel in the US since they wont ship them to me in Canada. I wanted to be able to track them to call the front desk (and my friend) to make sure they are picked up when they arrive.

So, am I expecting any further communication from Disney on the shipping ? Or do they just show up ?

They arrive without any prior tracking number. UPS dropped our bands off a couple of days after the customization date... delayed due to the MLK holiday.

We got ours this week, three days after our "last day to customize"deadline. And they had to make it all the way to Washington state! So I think they ship really, really quickly.

We got ours this week also. They arrived on the "last day to customize" date. Good thing I had finished them early!

I received email from Disney Destinations with the subject line "Great News! Your MAGICBAND package has shipped!" with a UPS tracking number for both magicbands I have received. There was also a "notification" on my MDE account page when they had shipped.

So many different experiences for one single item. Not a lot of consistency on the part of Disney...

Just to let you know that last night in the wee hours, I got an email from Disney saying they were on their way. They gave me a UPS tracking number which indicates that they should be delivered before 1030am this morning.

My recent experience:

We received our MagicBands a full 10 days before the "customize by" date. Luckily we had customized them early and didn't want to make any further changes. The shipment was sent UPS Next Day Air with guaranteed delivery by 10:30am. Disney had not notified us in any way that they were shipped.

About 3 days after the MagicBands arrived, we got an email from Disney Destinations stating "Great News: Your MAGICBAND package has shipped!" with the tracking number.

About 1 week after our MagicBands arrived, we got another email from Disney Destinations with the subject line:
"Act now to get your MAGICBANDS before you leave home"

The inside of the email told us "It's time to confirm your address and choose your MagicBands".

The 28th was my last day to customize, this morning I got the email from Disney Destinations saying that the magic bands were on their way and a tracking number for UPS was included. I just clicked it and the package is out for delivery today!
