MB linking to Disney Institute event?

My DD is taking a class with her college at Disney Institute over Christmas break (lucky her). As part of it, they get a multi-day park hopper, which I assume they won't physically get until they get down there. She has an MB from a previous trip. If she brings it, can she have it linked to her park hopper? If so, does she have to go to Guest Relations? or a place that sells Magic Bands? Or thru her MDE app?

if they are given tickets, she can link the number on the back of her ticket to her MDX account herself.
