Mazatlan, Mexico

Hi Frank,
Are there any excursions you know of that allow a 22 month old toddler to go also?

thanks, Sue

Anybody on the 5-28-05 Magic interested in getting together for a tour with Frank in Mazatlan? He charges $45pp for an all day tour, leaving around 8 and returning around 4.

I would say that any of the shore excursions that Disney has, is ok for any age. As Disney is a family ship, they try to make the tours interesting for all ages. If you want to do your own trip, perhaps you can go to the aquarium. They have some shows with sea lions and birds. It is nice!

Yes, it is a pleasure to give out information. There are many good restaurants. Los Arcos, Shrimp Bucket, Shrimp Factory, etc. My personal favorite is Tony´s on the beach. As the name says it is on the beach and has great food. The menu is from sandwiches, hamburgers to Mexican and Sea Food.
Examples: Sea food platter for 2, 2 lobsters, 6 jumbo shrimp with a soup or salad for each $350pesos (aprox $35us) Mexican plate, chile relleno, quesadilla, taco, burrito, piece of beef, guacamole, rice and beans (for one person) $80 pesos (aprox $8us). Is this good or what? It is excellent.
Post office is downtown by the cathedral. Also in the Golden zone there is a place called Post it next to Baskin robbins and they have stamps too.
Any other questions? please ask.
Have a great day!

We went to Tony's and I must say it was the best meal and the wait staff was wonderful. Thanks for the info Frank!!!! We love it!!!!

I am very happy that you enjoyed Tonys. I was there on Wednesday and the people I went with enjoyed it also very much.
If there is anything else I can help you with please ask.

Frank...How far of a walk is it from Tony's to El Cid resort? Oh and also do any of the beaches in Matz. have Jet skis to rent?

Thanks for all your help!

Tonys is about 3 blocks north of El Cid. You can walk on the Avenue or on the beach. There are 3 restaurants at the same place so look for Tonys.

Jet skis you might find at the Aqua Sports center at El Cid.

Any other questions please ask

You are very welcome. The idea that I have is that you are familiar to my City by the time you get here. You are here for only a day and this way at least you know what to do and where to go.
Have a nice weekend!

Frank, you are great answering all these questions. I've waded through them and haven't really seen my question asked, so...

Disney has the above-named excursion. We have a 6 year old, and knowing that a lot of the age limitations are Disney-imposed (not the vendor's limitations), we were wondering if you can recommend any tour operators who offer this excursion.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that they have never booked on their own. We learned after our first or second DCL cruise that Disney imposes an age limitation for liability reasons, plus they add a huge mark-up on the price. Most tour operators are more than happy to book people coming in on cruise ships separately. For them, money is money.

Yes, everything you say is true. I will check next week and see if the Deer Island tour has an age limit done by another company. Please wait for my answer.

Have a nice weekend!

Dizneykids..
How was your experience booking on your own? I'm working with Frank on a tour. We wanted to go horsebackriding on stone Island but he doesn't do that. So, he set us up with his friend and arranged to pick us up after horseback riding to take us to his part of town. I've read that's it's custom made to your preferences if you book on your own and not with Disney. Frank has been wonderful, but being that this is our first cruise of course we're a little nervous.

Didn't have time to read the whole thread. But Randy's Happy Horses was a great excursion. We were on the RCI Vision and booked it through her site. Took our DS(10) and it was one of the highlights of the trip. pirate:

I hope this does not sound commercial, but Randi is a great person. The people, always enjoy riding with her. I know her personally and she is real nice and kind. If you do not want to take a ground excursion, this is a great choice. Have fun!

The water taxi to Stone Island is about 3 blocks from the cruiseships passenger terminal building. As you get out to the street, turn left 3 blocks down straight ahead. It is at the end of the street. So you can walk there.

Any other questions please ask.

Hi Frank (or anyone who knows),
we have a will-be 22 month old and are planning to bring a small umbrella stroller with us. Will this work in Mazatlan or are the street cobblestone? Carrying a 25+ lb. kid the whole day gets awfully heavy. :flower:

thanks, Sue

I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, but it would take too long to wade through this entire thread now that it's so long. We're going with two small children, 1 and 4, and were thinking of getting a hotel room for the day where there would be a good, family-friendly pool. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Frank. I hear that there is shopping along the Golden Zone. How far away is the shopping from the Los Sabalos Resort? Also...how close is the Los Sabalos Resort to the Hotel Playa Mazatlan? Thanks :sunny:
