Anyone every go to Mayo Clinic for a diagnosis of possible MS? If so how long did you have to stay?

I am making an appointment with them and was wondering what to expect as how long I need to plan for.

honestly, i'd ask them when making the appt. they tend to be able to not only tell you a guessed length of time, but also give a list of hotels in the area that offers special rates for those staying for clinic reasons.

I agree with asking. I know people who've gone to both Jacksonville and Rochester and for different issues and both were told to plan to be there a week, but I don't know if that's the actual standard across the board. (The one who went to Jacksonville actually didn't stay a week because she was local enough that they could split her stuff up over several weeks.)

I would definitely call and ask. I agree that they could probbaly give you a lot of information about how long you will be there, hotels, etc.

When we lived in virginia, we went to Duke for testing and they were able to tell us that we would be there for 4 days of testing. They were also able to give us lists of hotels with hospital discounts, etc.

Hopkins does the same thing but we didn't have to stay in Baltimore because we only lived about 1 1/2-2 hours away so we were able to spread it out a little bit.

Most hospitals that are used to having out of town patients are very helpful and accomodating with long stays, etc.
