MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

Thanks for the input, ladies! You put out some valid points that we had to consider.

Kevin and I talked about this, and he really does not want to push the trip back, not even one day. With his work schedule, he would rather come home on a Saturday, so that he has Sunday to regroup, and catch up on some work from home before he has to be back in the office on Monday.

So, the decision has been made to keep the trip as it's planned. We will leave early Saturday (May 26) morning, and begin driving south. If Elizabeth and her friends are not leaving in time to meet up, then we are prepared to drive about 100 miles out of the way to swing through Gulf Shores/Pensacola to pick her up. It's not ideal, but we'll make it work. :thumbsup2

The condo where she will be staying has its own washer/dryer, so she knows she'll have to do laundry that Friday night. It would drive me crazy to be away from home like that, but she's young, and I don't think it bothers teenagers as much as it does us older folks. ;)

I'm back and glad to see I didn't miss too much. Sorry about the snafu in the plans, but it looks like you resolved it.

Can't wait to hear about the ADR's.

Glad you're back, Kathy! I can't wait to hear about your trip-sure you had lots of fun! :)

I guess the situation is as resolved as we can make it! We'll just make it work somehow! :thumbsup2

So, this morning I was checking my email, and there was one from Disney Destinations! All I could see on my phone's list was "Act fast on this Disney vacation offer....." :rolleyes1

I started to think, "Could it be? Could I have gotten the infamous free dining PIN that's been floating around to several DISers?" :yay:

I opened it up to find the "GAME ON" board that Disney's been using to send out PINs. Then I started reading......

"Experience the magic in May and save when you purchase a 5-night/6-day Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package that includes accommodations and theme park tickets. For example, stay at select Disney value resorts $505 per adult.......That's a savings of 18%"

:confused3:headache::confused3:headache::confused3:headache::confused3

ARE THEY KIDDING?????? 18%????? Uh, no thanks, Disney! I'll keep the general public, room only code of 30% off at Beach Club! :thumbsup2

Hi Michelle!

I first need to say what a beautiful family you have! Second, I see that our trips will overlap a little...now I also noticed that you have gone in May before so I figured you could tell me what kind of weather we can expect!

I cannot believe that PIN code was for 18% off...what is that about? I received the code for free dining at the beginning of last week, but we decided room only was the way to go for us this time!

I can't wait to follow along with all your plans:goodvibes

OR, we could possibly coordinate a way for me to help y'all out. You would not have to drive all the way down to Gulf Shores Or Pensacola Beach, she could come to Mobile, I could pick her up or just meet her, and we could meet up with y'all. That way you could just get on I-10 and head on down to Disney, and you wouldn't have to worry about her if she gets to the meeting place before you. Of course it is further than Montgomery, but at lease it saves y'all having to drive all the way to the beach.

I used a pin to book our trip, and I did come out MUCH better. Was your code the stay/play/dine offer? With the pin it saved Amanda and Matt $260 and it saved me $670. I think that should just about cover the gas...........:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:.

:)Thanks! Elizabeth would love that idea, because she thinks you're so funny! :thumbsup2

I'm hoping that her group will at least be able to meet us where
I- 10 crosses 59. Then we can just hop on I-10 and head on to Tallahassee. It's sweet of you to offer. :)

This code that came by email just said, "Experience the Magic in May and Save". I used the spring room only offer that was 30% off Beach Club/Yacht Club, or Boardwalk.

You are very welcome!! I know it is stressful when you are trying to get on the road, make sure you have everything packed and then have to alter your route.

Looking through one of my old email accounts I found an email with one similar to the one you are talking about, but that one expired on Jan. 22. It said "Tick Tock, times a wasting" or something like that........... The one I booked with came by snail mail, and the dining is free but it is the QS plan. I looked at upgrading to the basic DDP, but it didn't just charge the difference from the QS to the DDP, it charged full price .

The last time I got a Game On pin, it was for 10%. Ten percent, Disney? Really?! Needless to say, I passed.

I think y'all made the right decision in deciding to pick your daughter up on your way to the World. And you're right -- at that age, I definitely didn't mind being away from home for that long. And she's young enough that she will be able to hang with y'all. I, on the other hand, would be exhausted after a senior trip! ;)

I just discovered your PTR and am following along! Beach Club is such a beautiful resort, not to mention it has the added bonus of the Kitchen Sink. Hard to turn down a resort that offers such delicious ice cream.

Thank you! :goodvibes

We've been in May on two other occasions, and it is hot. The humidity is not anything like July/ August/Sept, though.

I'm looking forward to seeing how our plans shape up.

AMEN! :rotfl: Plus, the older I get, the more of a homebody I become. I would hate being away from my house for two weeks!

So glad you're here! :)

We enjoyed Beach Club when we stayed there before, and the spring offer of 30% discount made it even better.

The ice cream part is the truth! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you were able to come to a decision! I don't blame Kevin about needing a day to regroup - I am the same way! I'd love an extra day at Disney, but we always come back a day early, too, so that I can have one full day before work. :thumbsup2

18%?! Are they crazy?!

I was very excited when i saw pin code in ur title and then....:scared1: Isn't Ms Elizabeth the traveler :) Hope the pick up is an easy one. Can;t wait to hear about the food!!

Joining in, I remember reading your last TR and really enjoyed it! I'm also in the process of planning a May trip, so it will be fun to read along with your plans as well! I can't wait to start a PTR, but I have 2 TR's going right now, so there's no way I can add a third one yet, I have to finish one of them up first!

Great choice on the Beach Club, that's one of my favorite resorts! :woohoo:

And is Disney kidding with that pin code? Looks like all the rumors of them scaling back on the discounts is finally coming true! :sad1:

Disney is one vacation that you need a vacation to recover from!

Here, Michelle!!! I am so excited you and your beautiful family are headed back to Disney!!! :goodvibes

Thanks, Jackie! We're so excited to be heading back to Disney, too! :)

Yeah, Mary, I was so excited when I saw it too. But, there may be more to it now that I've investigated.....That's all I'm saying now! ;)

Glad to see you again! :) It's hard to keep all those TRs going isn't it? I remember having one in March and another for the May trip.
