As long as they bring over and divide the large 1 BRs and the GVs between BWV, BCV & VWL and don't forget to bring the bunnies, other than that, won't miss it at all. :D

But where would EROS watch the grass grow, and listen to crikets? ;)
Actually, I can't wait to try OKW. I think I will like the neighborhood feeling.

we will be at ooollllddd keywest in october..first time at the old folkes home:) :p

I must admit that it is real nice to sit and watch the bunnies and the grass grow at OKW. However, I hear the real action is watching the great new paint job dry at BWV. Won't be long before they have to paint once again I am sure.

:smooth:

My DW and I have found things that we like about all of the DVC resorts. We joined at BWV and have since completed an add-on at VWL in October and will complete an add-on at BCV in July (pre-June price).

Rich likes to sell OKW- so what!

ralphd:) :) :) :) :)

You know that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you return to your DVC home resort....put that key in and your home! Well this post makes me feel right at home on the DIS....been reading it for many years and actuallly, still get a chuckle out of it. It's fun and some take too seriously. :smooth:

Bunnies are nice. Is it bad to watch bunnies on vacation? I once saw a couple of bunnies at the BW, they just got out of Dueling Pianos and were waiting for a bus to go back to Okw, they were NOT happy.:D

There is way too much action happening at the Epcot resorts for you to have time to watch the paint dry, but I agree I am sure it will not be long before BWV is repainted--they maintain the resort beautifully! :D

I overheard the bunnies as they waited for the bus. They said while they loved staying at OKW, the only "true dvc resort" they thought next time they would stay at BWV because they heard that you could clean the units with "One paper towel" and that was better for the environment.:D

Shouldn't some of you feel ashamed? I don't think I've read one post on this thread about the ducks and ducklings at OKW. Why, they're the wake up call there!! WDW is famous for attracting celebrities and I'm sure I've seen the AFLAC duck just outside my OKW room.

When I have stayed at OKW our wake up call was the lawn mowers mowing the golf course in the early AM, but we did see the cute duck and ducklings. When we were at BWV last week there was also an adorable mommy duck with one duckling, I wonder if they took the bus over with the bunnies? :D

I truly love all the options that we have for resorts. The themes are such, that each gives you a different feel as to where you are. I personally like OKW, because when I go to Florida in January, I want to feel like I am in Florida and OKW gives me that feeling. The BWV are truly beautiful. But I have no desire at present to stay there, because all my life I have and can go to "the true boardwalk" in Atlantic City. I would imagine there are some Floridians who would feel the same way about OKW.
Just as everyone does not like the same make of car, not everyone will like the same DVC resorts. That is why it is great to have the choices we have. So let's lighten up and enjoy.

OK, would everyone just LIGHTEN up and enjoy ourselves here!!?? ;)

I'm splitting my next vacation between the BW and OKW and I can't wait! The best of both worlds!

Back to the old discussion about resort preferences:

We own at only OKW but try to stay at all of the DVC resorts within WDW (because we love the parks so much). We don't come down during the Christmas season, so we don't feel we need to own points at any other resort because we have never had a problem making ressies elsewhere. We have been considering a shorter stay at Vero Beach also because it looks so beautiful with its ocean views and cottages on the beach.

We do prefer a tropical (or lush greenery--WLV) look when on vacation because we are from New York and don't necessarily desire the hustle and bustle of an Atlantic City boardwalk when on a longer vacation. But, we have stayed at BWV two times to enjoy the Epcot/MGM location and enjoyed it for those reasons. We are currently looking forward to going to the new BCV this Summer because, hopefully, it will have a more tropical feel. But that's just us -- in between visiting the other DVC resorts, we always long to return to OKW because of the totally tropical, relaxed atmosphere, the spacious villas, the delightful boat trip to DD, and lovely Olivia's restaurant, where the food and OKW atmosphere grab us on each visit.

The best decision we ever made was buying into DVC because we love the wonderful selection of resorts it has to offer. I'm sure we will also try the new villas at Disney Institute when they are completed and enjoy the shopping and marina at Downtown Disney. Haven't had the desire to book on the DCL yet but one never knows what the future will bring!

sumessefui,
Just sitting here on my second day of vacation from school and am reading posts that I have missed. Are you from Hamilton Township in South Jersey? Just curious.

To each their own, that's what's so great about DVC, there are different resort styles for the different types of vacations people want. I like BWV for it's location, but I love VWL for it's "feel". After a day in a WDW park full of people, I love being somewhere quiet and peaceful. If I didn't have that relaxation, I'd go nuts in 2 days. Plus, I have a place on the beach in FL so I don't need more of that kind of scenery, and I do love the west and Yellowstone NP, and WL takes me right back there everytime I go through those doors!

Oh no, a 15 day old thread resurrected about comparing resorts after other similar threads have been closed. Hear we go, tiny, tiny BWV rooms, crickets, parking, noise, location, one true resort, 7 month avilability, long halls, no pool slide, and crying husbands. Good grief Charlie Bbrown. Wasn't this already decided which resort was best? The one each of us owns, right? We all choose the right resort for our own needs, preferences and desires, right? (except BWV criticizing OKW owners, of course :jester: )

Perhaps we need to narrow the question down to more specifics, which resort is the best for 11 teenagers, 6 cars and three kegs? Won't they miss the slide at OKW?

Naw-that's the beauty of DVC. They can always pool hop to BWV and turn it up a notch on that lovely slide!!!

You can pack them in a studio at either BWV or OKW. There won't be a problem with the one bathroom because after all they will all be in the pool and won't need to take showers.

Sorry, this is my fault. I posted a question to someone on the thread. I just learned about the private message feature and will use that next time.
Now everybody back to their corners!;)
