Maybe prayers will help
Hello, I just thought maybe some prayers might help my DMIL. She has small cell lung cancer. The out look is not good. We have a trip planned to Disney with her and my FIL in Oct. They live in NY. We will be staying at the BCV so we can just take it easy with her. Hoping she will be feeling well enough to catch the fireworks and some of the shows in the park. We know she would love them like Beauty and the Beast. Thanks in advance to anyone who sends prayers.

I will be praying for your dmil and your family. I hope you all have a wonderful time on vacation and that she is feeling well enough.

Prayers for a joyous, magical and memorable trip. May you have strength and solitude in God's will.

I'm so sorry. I will say prayers for your family. Hope you have a magical trip.

Prayers work - and mine are with your MIL and your family.... have a magical blessed trip.....Barb in Texas

Your dmil and your family have my prayers. Two years ago in May we took my dad to WDW for his last trip before going into hospice. It was what he wanted and while we were worried about his condition, we wanted to honor his request.
What a gift it was to all nine of us. We stayed at the Polynesian in their handicap building and the cast was simply wonderful to my parents. I can't begin to express their many kindnesses. It also provided us with easy access via monorails and boats and a drive that came right to the front door of the building.
We rented a motorized wheelchair for him that we kept right there the whole time.
He had the best time ever. As sick as he was, it was amazing how excited he was to be there. We went to see Wishes at the MK which included his youngest great-granddaughter who was only 6 weeks old. We will never forget that night.
You are making the right decision to go ahead with your trip. Give her lots of time to rest and sleep in and make ressies for meals so you don't have to wait anywhere. Let the staff know if you have any special needs or want an exceptionally quiet room.
God bless and have a wonderful gathering. My best to you all.

I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with your DMIL and your whole family. Enjoy every minute you're in WDW and have a wonderful, magical time.

Thanks to all for your prayers. Some times I feel like I am on long distance to God. So if anyone has a direct line please include Dottie Lindon. Thank you.

My prayers go out to you and your family. However, don't give in... My FIL was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer 2 years ago. The docs said he had about 6 months to live. His lung cancer is all but gone and the docs are working on reducing the adrenal gland cancer.

Have a great time at DW and take alot of pics!

The poster that said they used a scooter has the right idea if she's going to do parks either rent a push wheelchair that you can push or a scooter....they do breakdown enough to fit in a trunk and I would recommend renting a car just so she doesn't have to wait in lines for transportation....unless you're just doing EPCOT and MGM boat ride should be fine unless the smell of the fumes from the engines will bother her..... Conserving energy is the name of the game........if she's having any pain this will zap her energy....if she's having any shortness of breath due to her lung cancer then oxygen might need to be on hand this will require a doctors order and can be arranged through a local orlando company (I rented both oxygen and a scooter for my mom....I don't remember the companies).....also be sure that her doctor is informed of this trip so that he can make recommendations
....Passporter Special for Special needs might be helpful too.

Prayers for your DMIL, your family & friends. Hoping your trip is a Magical, special trip~

Thinking of you and your family. Wishing you some very special pixie dust for your trip xxx :grouphug:

Your DMIL is in our prayers.

Two years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage IIb lung cancer. After having one of his lungs removed and going through chemo, he was cancer-free. We all went to WDW to celebrate. We're all going back in December with my sister, her DH and my dad's first grandson.

I hope your entire family has a magical trip -- remember, every moment counts!

Sending Prayers for Dottie .... :grouphug:
The Lord always hears ..He will always answer in His Will and His time ( which is so hard for us to be patient for)

I will be praying long and hard that she will have a restful , pain free trip and that you can all, as a family, focus on a Magical time, full of love.
