Dont ever quote me on this...

I spoke with a CM a couple of weeks ago regarding the pins. I have no idea if the CM knew what she was talking about...it could have been a bus driver for all I know.. BUT...

She basically said pins are advanced offers to random people that will be offered to the general public for later dates.

So....my guess is the "free dining" offer to the general public this year will be the QS with option to upgrade for $$. And, Im also guessing the fall promo will be a percentage off the room that everyone seems to be getting via pincode now.

AGAIN, I have no idea if there is any truth to it.

There is really no way of being for sure.

I found it interesting this past week, that Disney said they were "overwhelmed" by the amount of crowds this week - they had underestimated how many people were going.

If that continues to happen, Disney will have filled their resorts rooms more continuously and you will see the general public codes drop off. I think that would hold true, especially because they might be able to fill rooms just with the random codes....

Discounts are meant to fill rooms....if they are already filled, than discounts will be less and less.
 
I can imagine them being busy this week as its college Spring Break. I think Sep/Oct/Nov will not be any busier than usual.

My DH and I were just talking about that yesterday. With this sudden influx of huge crowds that Disney wasn't expecting I also think that maybe a few month ago when CEO made the announcement that discounts would be scaled back this year might have had some truth behind it.
 

Think about this for a second.

Disney knows exactly how many people will be showing up at its resorts.

What it has no idea about.. is exactly how many people will be in the PARKS this week and I'm pretty sure that's what they were talking about this week.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's all good news..but I believe that's what was being referenced. It could simply mean that the off site properties (which have been digging pretty deep into the discount bin themselves) ... have been very successful in efforts to fill THEIR rooms .. as has Disney with it's discounts.
