We just returned from our stay at THV. I have to say that we were a little bit disappointed. The staff just seemed worn out and not near as friendly as Disney is known for. Also there were beer cans under the Treehouse which were missed by housekeeping. That could have just been an oversight, but it just felt like the overall maintenance and cleanliness was not the typical Disney quality.
The worst part was the transportation. To go to a park we had to wait 30 minutes for a bus to Saratoga and then catch another bus. We were told two different bus stops at Saratoga to catch a return bus to the Treehouses only to find out after a lengthy wait that there is no return bus to the Treehouses. After my older children were stuck at Saratoga Springs late at night after a day at the park, I called the resort. I was told that there is not really a bus, but they could ask any of the buses that came through there if they would be able to drop them off at the Treehouses. When they did this the driver said that he wasn't really sure how to get to the Treehouses, but he would try to find them. This did not make me feel very secure as a parent. I could not believe what I was hearing. Providing transportation does not include guests "bumming a ride" back to their resort. If I have to climb on a random bus and ask a bus driver to take me someplace off the route, then I will probably just try to stay somewhere else. We bought into DVC because of the exceptional service, cleanliness, and benefits of Disney. I really hope that this is not proving to be a trend.
