Maybe it's time to Boycott Universal

I can't understand how if everyone (unlikely but just a scenerio) bought Express passes sure it would not work.

They limit the number of express passes sold. Most of the Christmas holidays the passes were sold out fairly early on the morning.

They sell less passes when it is more crowded.

I'm just making up a number here to just illustrate. Say the park attendance is 20,000, they may only sell 500 express but those express passes will cost more. If the park attendance is 10,000, they might sell 700 which brings the price down. Once again, I am just making up a number but hopefully you can see why it works and also why it costs more on busy days.

Macraven, for some reason Yahoo.com doesn't stock the up-to-date (i.e. the 2006 edition) of the Brit's Guide so it can only be purchased online right now through yahoo.co.uk. The cost, with international shipping (a rather hefty £6.98 for 6-10 days delivery) currently works out at £16.07, which, at today's conversion rate of £1/$1.76, would make it $28. You might like to contact yahoo.com to see if they can get stocks of the 2006 version, with cheaper shipping, but I honestly don't know why they only seem to stock last year's version! For some feedback on the books, please click on any year-by-year edition on the amazon.co.uk website as we do seem to get a fair few reviews each year (most of them positive, I'm happy to say!).

thanks for the reply simonV. i do appreciate it.
i know universal quite well but am not the expert here. i know what i like to do and am always looking for a book that can give me more insight, something to learn from.
ok with todays conversation and if i ordered the 06 book, what happens if the conversion rate increases when i order your book?

maybe i should check with yahoo.com first.
i have a friend across the pond i would like to send a book to.

one more thing, phamton is kewl.

Hi again Macraven. You would be charged at the conversion rate when you actually buy, and your cc company would let you know in due course what rate you bought at. So, if you bought today, you would get the 1:1.76 rate. The rate would need to drop down to nearer 1:1.6 to make it better value for US buyers, though :(

phamton, i follow you on this one with the express pass plus program.

i do the hhn and buy the ex pass plus in advance.
they only sell a certain number of them.
a universal worker that was at the stay and scream area told me last year universal limits the number of ex pass plus to 5000. i have no way to know if this is valid but would think it is close as not as many have the express passes for the houses when i went thru on a peak night. i did 3 nights in a row and that was my impression.

for some years i stay on site and enjoy the perk universal gives to its guests. when my kids went with me i figured i came out ahead by staying on site and the approximately, $105 i would have spent on the pass that day i would apply to the cost of the room. if i have a room with AAA for 225 and saving that $105 for the passes, i justify my room costs to be about $120 a day. hope that makes sense to you.

Are the passes only for the actual day and not for any other days?

the express pass plus are good for the day they are purchased.
you get a express pass for each ride and attraction. only one per ride that is.

as phamton posted earlier, universal only sells a certain number each day, therefore, what you buy, must be used that day.

if someone got ill or an emergency arosed, and you could not use the express pass plus, then you would need to go to guest services to discuss the situation with them.

please correct me other posters if i phrased any of that incorrectly.

Ok guys, I am locking this thread. I think it has run its course :)
