I'm thinking I might take a rental car. I can get an suv for $100 with taxes included for the entire time of our trip (using entertainment coupon). I've never gone down w/o renting a car and not sure I'd like to wait for busses...I don't know what to do????

of course no one can make up your mind for you. If you're used to renting a car, you might be uncomfy without one, unless you like trying new things.

I'm confused about one point, though. You say you don't like waiting for buses. Are you talking about DME or Disney transport? If you're ONLY talking about waiting for the bus to take you to WDW and waiting for the bus to take you back to MCO, it seems awfully expensive to rent a car just to avoid those two buses, especially since the bus back to MCO is scheduled, you don't have to wait and wonder when it will leave.

But if you don't like using Disney Transport to get to and from the parks, that's fine and dandy, but that has naothing to do with DME.

For the record, I love DME. I had great experiences in both directions, and I think it's a great idea. I felt like a VIP not having to handle my own luggage, let alone having to even THINK about it.

How old is your daughter? That might be the deciding factor. Can you afford it without sacrificing some other part of your vacation (meals, souvenirs)?

I noticed you're from NH. I'm from Maine and we do not have access to public transportation - we drive everywhere. Having to drive at Disney is no big deal for me. I have no trouble asking for directions and have a map handy to consult. I always prefer jumping in my car instead of waiting 20 minutes for a bus. I also know with little ones that waiting even 5 minutes for a bus can seem like an eternity. If we're moving our stress level is less! We may take the bus to Magic Kingdom - but that's probably it.

I am heading down in Oct with my 6 year old son. We'll take 2 bags that go in the overhead, we won't even check anything. When the plan lands we grab our car and head to Disney without waiting for bags or buses. We can also make a quick trip to WalMart for breakfast supplies - like to get to the parks early :flower: - as well as anything we forgot or need.

You will find all kinds of different opinions, but it really depends what you and your daughter prefer doing - waiting or driving!

No matter what - enjoy!!

lol, I can't even make up my own mind. For now, I reserved one, but I'll decide what I'm doing on Thursday. I guess I'm nervous about not me, but with the Disney transport, having to get up really early just so can make sure we make it to our breakfast adr on time. Ugh, I don't know. I'm a pain in my own butt. :rotfl: I think because this is our first time staying on property and having to rely on disney transport and not being able to just get up and go...is giving me second thoughts on the whole thing...but then, would I be wasting $100 for nothing??? I don't know how the crowds will be and such. :confused3 I think I'm starting to confuse myself....
