Maybe a stupid question: How does the timing of the Fantasmic and Galactic Spectacular shows work?

I see on the WD app that on the day we will be at DHS, Fantasmic! starts at 9 and Galactic Spectacular starts at 9:30 but I'm curious if you can see the fireworks from anywhere in the park. We have dinner vouchers for the Fantasmic! show but that will just be ending around the time GS is beginning so it's not likely we will get from way over past Sunset Blvd. to Animation Courtyard in time to see GS.

I hope I'm making sense. Thanks.

this is being discussed on the SW thread.
Basically you cannot see any of the projections, you could probably see some of the very high fireworks from the show but it would not be the best view and there are not a lot of fireworks associated with this new show

I didn't know there was a specific thread for this. Thanks, I'll go there and see what people are saying. Let's pretend I deleted this post! :)

You won't see much.

I think they've scheduled it like this so Guests have to make a choice between the 2 events thus lessening the crowd for the fireworks substantially.

Maybe they should introduce another set of projections in a different area of the park? I haven't seen the show (except across the water from the Swalphin) so I have no idea how feasible this is.

At Disneyland, the current fireworks show relies very heavily on projections. But since obviously not everyone can watch from Main Street or the Castle, there are also projections at the Rivers of America, It's a Small World, and the Matterhorn. Each one provides a different but excellent experience.

This was great when Fantasmic was running because it avoided crowds having to make their way across the park and getting jammed.

Yeah, when I see the layout of DHS on the map, the path up to Fantasmic looks kind of narrow and I worry about a bottle neck. Might take some time to get out of there after the show is over.
