is it cause it's bad, or cause it's not someplace you'd really travel to since it kind of out of the way? any one know if it's on the ddp?
Thanks for any and all imput good, bad or indifferent :thumbsup2

I hope it's good! We are trying it on our trip in June.

Had the breakfast buffet a while back and while it was good, it was nothing special. There are many of other (better) options for breakfast. I'd certainly eat here again if staying at CSR - I just wouldn't make a special trip if I was staying elsewhere. The room itself was kind of stark - I expected something more decorative.

I had the breakfast buffet in January. It was good. The fresh fruit was really good -- a nice treat in January! While most of the offering were standard, they did have the best biscuits & gravy I've ever had in a restaurant. And, being a GRITS (Girl Raised In The South), I KNOW good biscuits & gravy!!

I don't think most families think of traveling to another resort to eat. You usually eat at the resort your staying at.

Transportation can be difficult unless you have a car. Too many connections when you depend on Disney transportation.

Restaurant on the monorail loop seem to get the most vsits when it comes to traveling. Plus there's "no big draw" character meal. It's just another resort restaurant. I'm not saying it's isn't good, I've never eaten there.

Well-it is out of the way, and that accounts for some of it. Plus--they did change their dinner menu awhile back and that did it for me.
We always do the breakfast buffet at least once each trip--it is pretty basic, but we always can get in with no wait, and the bacon they serve is GREAT!!

We used to go to Maya Grill all the time - they had a very interesting, Central/South American themed menu with dishes not available anywhere else at WDW. They also had great margaritas. And, because it was out of the way, it was never very crowded, so it made for a quiet relaxing meal.

Then, as Uncleromulus said, the menu changed to a more standard steak/chicken/ribs/fish place. We went once after the chanage and while the maragaritas were still as good, the food was ordinary. It is worth a try, but it is no longer (for me) a place to make a special effort to get to on each trip.

I love this restaurant. The service is awesome. I wish they had more of a "mexican" menu, but I guess they changed it to cater to the business crowds. I've always enjoyed my meals there.

I agree with madalex. We used to love Maya Grill when it featured Nuevo Latino cuisine. We are much less enchanted with it now that it's steaks, chicken and ribs. Having said that, we still go sometimes. We order margarita's, which are great. And, we have several appetizers and desserts. The appetizers still retain some of the inventiveness of the original restaurant. We never order entrees.
