getting ready to leave in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!! what should we expect for weather? i had read here once that one lady was miserable without tank tops. even tshirts were too hot in may? i have mostly tshirts. so should i be running to walmart before i go and stocking up on tanks????

We always used to go Memorial Day week and it was hot and very humid. Also lots of rain. Bring your rain ponchos and absolutely an umbrella. We learned the hard way - ponchos do nothing for you when rain is pouring down on your hooded head. That umbrella is important! Bring a compact one that has a loop to hand on your wrist, or stroller or whatever you can.

All that sounds like bad news - but honestly, May is a great month to go. After all, it's WDW - is there really a BAD time?:D

It should easily be in the 90s. Depending on where you're from that can be really hot or pretty nice. We've been fortunate that the early part of May hasn't brought any rain while we've been down there (every May since 1999), but that's not to say we haven't just been lucky!

The last time we went to WDW it was the second week of May. It was warm but not horrible. I think it is a beautiful time to go. May you have an absolutely wonderful vacation!:)

We went last year from 5/9 to Memorial day weekend (we drive) and the weather was from the high 80's to low 90's during the day and in the 70's at night. We had one day where it rained from 6 am- 1:00 pm and then cleared. We're hoping for just as good weather this year!

The 10 day forecast shows that the average temp will be 86 degrees. WOOO HOOO!!!! It's a lot better than 40! I hope that there is no rain. I would like to get away from it for a while.

I don't know a lot about May weather, but I'm hoping it will be nice when we go in 3 weeks. I do know a good bit about handling heat though, given that we hit the 100 mark daily for a large part of the summer. I have found that sometimes having short sleeves can actually be cooler because the sun doesn't "bake" your skin that way. Its especially good if your shirt is white. I wouldn't worry about getting tank tops. They shouldn't make that much of a difference. Plus, they offer less protection against sunburn. Wear what you are comfortable in sleeve wise, just try to avoid dark colors. Of course, I wouldn't show up in a sweatshirt or anything! ;)

Enjoy your trip!

Last year we went the first week and it was 95, 96 everyday. Hot but not real sticky. The infamous "dry heat"! No rain though, this was during the drought. I think our December trip proved the drought was over! We're arriving May 9th, here's to temps in the 80's and no rain!

I've been several times in May including last year. The weather during that trip was extreme to say the least. To give you an idea, one day the high temp was 97 and the dew point was 81! I have never been so uncomfortable from the heat. Even TL offered no relief.

However, it's not always like that. I'd bring (and will be bringing) clothing that will keep you as cool as possible. Each year is different though so pack a variety.

I'm really hoping that they don't set another high temperature record when I'm down there this year.

*Imagine... only 10 days, 0 hours and 7 minutes till WDW!*

I have been 5 times in the first 3 weeks of May. Our first trip it was 96 degrees every day and fairly humid but I loved it. On subsequent trips it has been in the low 90's occaisionally but not real often. It seems to averge in the mid to high 80's with varying humidity. There has been very little rain on my trips. There is usually one bigger storm that lasts 45 minutes to a couple hours. One time it didn't rain at all. These are 7-10 day trips.

We were there the last week of May last year. It was hot and humid.
We also were there in October (Columbus Day weekend). It was slightly lower in temps, but even more humid.
And we are use to humidity. But not use to being out in it all day.
I have decided to avoid WDW at least 6 months out of the year. ;) I do better in cold than heat and humidity. Just personal preference. Summer is when I hibernate.
The prior May we were in So CA (DL/DCA included). I think I would opt for that if I returned in May. Much more tolerable weather. :)
