May trip question

We want to go in May 24-28, but don't want to book the room yet. We have some points in a hold account from a previous cancelled reservation. We have to wait 60 days out to use the points. Is this a busy time, will there be availability?

Not sure this is really an answer for you, but I just booked the first week of May, and BWV and BCV were limited in availability. Everything else seemed open though. It probably depends on the unit size you want. Studios are difficult right now, but there were 1 bedrooms available everywhere.

One more thing to consider is that the time you are planning to be there is Memorial Day weekend. We will also be there during that time and it is very busy, not unmanageable, but busy.

I don't know if this would work for you, but you could go ahead and book a room and then when your 60 day mark hits just change the reservation and use the points in holding rather than the current points. I know MS can "reallocate" the points used in a reservation because we have done this before for one of our trips.

I don't know if MS would reallocate points in this situation. Points in holding can only be used 60 days prior to checkin. If they allowed this (booking with other points and then swapping in holding points) they would be providing a way around the holding account restrictions.

Good point, I didn't think of it that way. I know they reallocated our points used for the reservation, but they weren't in holding either.
