Hello!

I have never signed up to actually post on this board before, but I have read plenty and learned so much from all the "Disney Pros." This will be our 2nd Disney trip; the first one was in May of 2015. I'm a big planner, and we had a great time in 2015. However, I am just stressing a little about the timing of the extra fast passes for club level and debating whether to still go to HS or not, and if not, what should we do with that day? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Our traveling party is Grandma (58), my daughter (8), my son (5), and myself.

Saturday (5/19)- Arrive at Contemporary - dinner at Chef Mickey's

Sunday (5/20)- EMM at MK
9:25- 10:25- BTM
10:25-11:25- Splash
11:25-12:25- Pirates
Lunch at Tony's and Resort Break
3:00-4:00 - Buzz
4:00-5:00 - 7DMT
5:00- 6:00 - HM
-Dinner BOG at 6:15
-Reserved viewing for fireworks- MK

Do these FP look good? If not, what should I trade? The ones after lunch are the "extra" ones.

Monday (5/21)- EPCOT- breakfast at Chef Mickey's -- 9:10
11:30-12:30- Spaceship Earth
12:30-1:30 - Soarin'
1:30-2:30 Seas with Nemo
2:30- 3:30 Journey Figment
3:30- 4:30 Test Track
4:30-5:30 Frozen Ever After
-Dinner at Biergarten at 6:10
-Reserved viewing for fireworks- EPCOT

Tuesday (5/22)- AK- Breakfast at Tusker House - 8:05
Haven't made FP for this day yet because I didn't do the "extra" ones
Dinner at TREX cafe - 6:00

Wednesday (5/23)- HS - should we go to a different park instead?
We have Hollywood and Vine booked for Breakfast -- not sure if we should ditch this
to visit another park. The no FP for Toy Story makes me feel like my kids won't have anything to do.
-Dinner at Ohana - 6:00

Thursday (5/24)- MK - 8:05 PP0 at BOG
9:25-10:25- Under the Sea
10:25-11:25- 7DMT
11:25- 12:25- PP
Lunch at Skipper Canteen
1:00-2:00 Jungle Cruise
2:00-3:00 Splash
3:00-4:00 BTM
-Break at hotel
-Dinner CRT at 5:55
-Reserved viewing for fireworks - MK

Would you switch any of these FP out for different ones?

Friday (5/25)- Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare- head home :(

Thanks in advance for any help! I think I'm "overthinking" things...

I might do the extra ones earlier in the day since you need concierge to change them. If you have the normal FastPasses for later you can always move them up once you swipe your magic band.

I don’t think you would need a FP for under the sea that early. I would get 7DMT fast passes for both MK days.

I’m surprised you don’t want the extra FP for AK to get FOP.

Thank you! I was thinking the opposite, but now I see your point about reversing my extra and regular fast passes. I could add the extra fast passes for our AK day, but I didn't know if my kids would enjoy FOP. I will definitely call tomorrow to do this-- FOP, Navi, Safaris, Kali-- not sure about two more for AK.

I really appreciate your response! Do you think I should keep a day at HS?

Hi @jlwise - :welcome: to the DIS!

Not to micro-manage your writing style, but it may be helpful to add some line spaces between the days in your post - it helps people be able to read/digest your plans a little more quickly.

Also you may want to post on this thread as well: Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase (Logistics) Several folks there have been trying to plan best strategies for the extra FP program.

You have a schedule that is pretty packed with ADRs, park time, and FPs - hope you have a great time. :flower:

:thanks: I edited my post to add in spaces. When I saw my post appear, I thought, "Yikes. Everything is really close together!" We are really looking forward to the trip, and this is the time where I start to panic, worrying if I made the "right" plans or not. I will definitely check out that thread too; I wasn't sure the best place to post this. I really appreciate the "Welcome!"

I don’t know how adventurous your kids are, or how interested in Star Wars they are. Both Fantasmic and the Star Wars fireworks are great there. The beauty and the beast show and Indiana Stunt shows are really good too. I would rope drop Toy Story if the park interests you and FP RnR, and ToT. My daughter at 5 loved ToT.

Just curious... are the concierge Fast Passes disconnected from the three regular FP+ everyone gets? I'm probably not wording this very well. But what I mean is, after you use your three regular FP+, can you start booking your 4th even if you haven't used the concierge ones yet?

If so, then it might change your strategy for putting the regular FP+ early in the day so you can start booking new ones sooner. If not, then perhaps this won't work... you'd need to use all six before booking your 7th FP.

I also think that you can double up on rides between your concierge fast passs and the regular ones.

Okay-- great point! We already have Hollywood and Vine scheduled for 8:05, so I guess that may help us a little with getting in (or may hurt us --not sure). We will go ahead and keep a HS day because we didn't make it to see the Indiana Stunt show last time or Beauty and the Beast. Thanks so much!

You are 100% right because I went in and can actually change my regular fast passes to anything (even rides that are booked with extra fast passes).

Yes, this is right. Signature services told me that after I use my three regular passes, I am free to then book the 4th, 5th, etc... as the extra passes are separate (and those don't have to be used before booking more regular passes). This is why I currently have the regular fast passes booked early in my day with the extra later. I am thinking I'll keep it that way now. Great point!

Oh and the extra fast passes do look different than the regular. The regular have the pictures of the ride, while the extra say "Select One Experience" with "view details" at the bottom. Once you click "view details" and go to the next page, the picture of the ride appears.

Is there a reason you don't have a FP for Space Mountain? I would change something in MK to that for at least one of your days.

Not sure if this messes with your plans, but I'm not seeing EMM for May 20 for MK. I'm seeing it at HS. We have the plan to be at MK the same day, but we try to avoid EMH when possible

OP - on your Sunday, you may want to think about changing your 7DMT FP to something else since you’re doing EMM that morning. Unless you just LOOOVE yourself some 7DMT, I’d be about 7DMT’d out by that point! :-)

Also, just curious - are you totally set on using your Extra FP days twice at MK? If this were me, I would rather use a day of that program at AK, especially if the Pandora rides are high-value targets for you.

You’re also doubling up on some things Thursday that you’ve already done either through FPs or EMM earlier in your trip. But, a lot of MK time is certainly a valid strategy too if that’s what you’re going for.

I enjoy staying at CR - hope you have a great trip!

Okay- great points! This is why I decided to post on these boards. I think you are right that we may have our fill of 7DMT through EMM. Also, I don’t mind adding a 4th day for the extra FP, so I think I’ll do that to allow us to do both Pandora rides. My son is an inch away from being talk enough, fingers crossed he grows that inch by May.

Thank you so much for your help!!

I have not been on Space Mountain, so I wasn't sure if the ride would be too scary for my 5 and 8 year old. I've read some reports on here that the ride is pretty rough, so I was also worried about motion sickness. Do you get queasy on it?

Motion sickness isn't the concern. Back/neck pain is.

Also, EMM is a LOT of food. I would cancel the Tony's ADR and plan on a light QS lunch or snacking until your BOG ADR. Tony's is terrible anyway.

Since you have dinner at Chef Mickey's I'd consider eating at Garden Grill, Cape May Cafe or Coral Reef on your Epcot day instead of a second meal at Chef Mickey's.
