My family and I are making the trip to Disney in May and are staying in the park (POR) for the first time... I have reservations at the following places:

Any advice, changes etc.... We do have the dining plan. Unfortunately Rainforest Cafe is not on the plan, is there anywhere else with a similar ambiance that would interest two boys ages 5 & 7? Thanks JDF27

50's Prime Time Cafe
Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast
Tony's Town Squre
Raglan Road
Rose & Crown
Jiko
Rainforest Cafe
O'hana Character Breakfast
Boatwrights (only because it will be convienent)

When are you going in May? We'll be at POR May 1-9th. Did you try Boma at AKL? My kids like it here and they do have some children's entrees and you can go outside to see the animals before or after you eat.

i agree with the PP, boma is great :thumbsup2 but if you are doing Jiko already, you have the better of the 2 restaurants.
Coral Reef (EPCOT) is excellent. one wall of the restaurant looks into a huge "aquarium" where sharks, turtles, lots of different fish, & an occassional diver swims by. we've found the food & service there consistantly very good to excellent.
(btw, imho not going to RFC is no great loss. there is no comparison between the jerky movements of fur or feather covered robots to the grace & beauty of the real, exotic animals you'll see at Jiko (AKL)).
enjoy :)

Hi - we're going May 2-10th and also staying at POR. How old are your boys? Mine are 5 & 7.

We will be going in May too! 10th-18th and we will also be dining at Tony's and 'Ohana's.

I was going to suggest the Tusker House at AK as a replacement for Rainforest. Not sure if you're interested in a character meal though.

I think your plan looks fine. The boys might also like Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wildnerness Lodge.

My only concern for you is Jiko with boys 5 and 7 - it isn't an exciting place an dthe meal can take a bit of time. Of course my son is ADD, so I have a view that I am sure doesn't apply to all.

Hi all. We are staying at POFQ (we'll be neighbors!) 4/30-5/7. We're also eating at Chef Mickey's and Ohanas. Our other ADRs are at Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Coral Reef. Our boys will be almost 6 and almost 7.

We are also may travelers and we are staying at the CBR. We made our ADR's a few weeks ago and here is what we chose LeCellier, 50's prime time, the restaurant in italy, and we just changed a reservation today so we can have dinner at concourse before it closes!

Ok, I've made some dining changes due to things I've read & also because of changes to which parks we're seeing when:

Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast
Tony's
Rose & Crown
Jiko
Boma - Added
50's Prime Time Cafe
O'Hana Character Breakfast
Rainforest Cafe (for Lunch one day)

I tried to add Coral Reef but the only reservations they had were 8:00 & later which would be too late for my guys. Should I try to do Coral Reef for Lunch?

Also, looking for good seafood place? Any input on Spoodles from you guys!

Thanks - Jen

Are you on the dining plan? I think the kids would like Coral Reef. Mine do. We're eating dinner at 7:50 there. Do you like a more casual atmosphere or it doesn't matter to you for the seafood restaurant? I would try Cape May Cafe for dinner we go every time and they have different seafood choices. It is a buffet style restaurant. My kids also like Kona at the Poly.

If you're looking for an Epcot meal to replace Coral Reef, what about Biergarten - fun, lively oompah band/show or Garden Grill - great character interaction and relaxed atmosphere.
