"May" the Sun Shine on Hakuna Matata!!!!

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Spring is beautiful, new growth and storms...sounds like everyday life. :goodvibes

Vicky-My fault as I sent both pillows out at the same time...in 10 days I will either sleep or just be so brain dead it will not matter. :headache:

No gym today - maybe a walk after the little ones are picked up.

Connie~ I am so excited I can't hardly wait! :yay: Oh, I received the walking schedule you sent yesterday, but have not had time to 'really' look at it yet. :goofy:

Have a fun day whatever you do!

Morning Kids, the clouds are clearing off here in San Jose, teaching is done so now meetings start this afternoon,

Hope all is well, Lynn reports to be having a good time with Family.

Have had nice runs in the morning, even though I stayed out a little too late last night. in bed at 11:00 LOL

Hey team!

Thanks for the positivity! That job I have been waiting for posted yesterday and I have applied. My boss is aware and now I just have to wait for an interview. I have been told though that they may be making one of the part timers in that office full time and that then the part time position would come open (I can't do part time). So it's a waiting game at this point. But things have been better in the last couple of days and tonight is packet pick up for Sundays race! :cool1:

Vivky - Yes we are going for free dining in September...staying at POR. It should be a nice trip. I have already said though that if I get this raise then we might take a long weekend in June to head down and hit maybe one park. I need a break from Ohio and this stress!

Scott - Don't know how you still wake up early and get out there going to bed that late. I've been staying up later in hopes of getting this night job and I can't get myself up to run in the AM. I have been going after work to the gym.

Margie - You are making me jealous with the :goofy: stuff! I so wish that Goofy 2010 was in my cards!

Denise - That's awesome about the quilt becoming a pattern!! You are so talented...you deserve the recognition!!

Sue - So you are in spinning...I have been checking out the classes a bit at my gym. My one friend took a free class and she said it was HARD. I sweat buckets even on the recumbent..but I'd like to give it a try I think.

OK...well I should get back to work. I miss you guys...wish I could get in here more. Hope all is well! :o)

Good morning y'all.

I had an amazing training walk this morning, it was just after daybreak with lots of dense fog, looked very sureal. I did my 4 mile hill route total time with slower warm up mile was 51:40. Really felt strong today and felt like I could have easily held that pace for at least a half.

Eva, good luck on the job. Erica is stil trying to get an ER position.

Scott, have a good vacation with your cop buds in Calif.

Have a super weekend y'all.

Happy Panda

Dave that is a great 4 miler, you are smoking out there.

Not a vacation at all, taught the last two days, now commander meetings today and tomorrow. Then home on Sunday to see Spamalot in Denver, and Monday morning get up and do it again, amen.

nocking out a backlog of emails,

Good Evening Team!

Stayed with my brother last night up on the coast - so no internet. Tonight I am back at my cousins in Santa Rosa, so I have internet again. Been visiting my Dad who is in a nursing home for a few weeks - it has been a good but sometimes trying experience. Tomorrow, I will visit Dad in the morning, then drive south to San Jose to meet Scott and we willl be flying home Sunday morning.

I have been getting walks in every morning, but have not been doing my leg exercises, so my knee has not improved on this trip!

Have a good evening!

Good morning Team,

Dave - Great time on four miles!! When's your next judged race?

Denise - How exciting to be published! You have reached the pinnacle of your craft! How wonderful!

Scott and Lynn - Scott, I am with Eva on that staying up late and getting up early!! As I mentioned on another post, my inner child can be a real brat. Lynn, enjoy your time with your family! On your way home tomorrow, tell the pilot we want you both home safe1

Eva - Good luck on the job.

Sue- You are a true warrior! Did you guys know that Sue consistently has the most miles in our game??

Margie-

Jack- Whatcha up too?

Vicky- take care of those shins!

We missed the severe weather yesterday. Severe around here means, "Tornadoes are in the air!" We have a great warning system here, though. Looking for 2 miles today and 4 tomorrow.

See ya! Connie

Sue congrats you go, and Jennifer must be the fastest. The rest of us need you guys as inspiration, Kewl!!!

I did get in a couple of miles this morn.

Jack, The RISP paid their debt last night.

Good Morning:

Needed my beauty sleep so I got up at 5:30 and had coffee - sewed a bit watching the news then woke up Mark for coffee and a walk. He wanted to wait to walk but I knew it would get warm(for me) and I'd be pooped so I made it a priority to get my 5 miles in. He didn't want me to go alone so rather going to the hardware store at 8 he's going at almost 10 but hey - we've accomplished our 5 miles - 4 for him he had to cut it short.

It's a lovely day in NH(now) - honestly if you need the warm sun, just have me walk in your neighborhood. I start out in the cool cloudy morning and end up with the sun and heat but thankfully it was at the end.

An exciting day, cleaning cat boxes, groceries, cleaning my bedroom and then as a reward maybe a bit of sewing.

Eva - I know all about 10 pounds, it's my winter weight, that's why I really need to go out 5x a week to walk and for me it's only been here and there.

Connie-Margie - a walking schedule - sounds interesting.

Lynn, I know all about nursing homes, my dad was in one for 7 weeks before he passed and I went every day except 1. Mark came with me too. It was one of the best in the city but still very depressing.

Well the cats are staring at me, they want a new bathroom so off I go and start my day.

denise

Scott, Thanks, and I was just thinking I was having a slow week.

I did 6.2 miles (10K) this morning in 49 minutes (right around an 8 minute pace).

Best,
Jennifer

Denise....could you bring some of that sunshine here? :sunny: We STILL don't have our garden planted because just when the ground is almost dry enough, it rains again!! This is the latest we've had to wait for years. We'll be lucky if we have tomatoes before August at this rate!

Connie- Hi, finalizing plans for a golf tournament June 5th, making sure foursomes are set and hoping for good weather.... Memo to self don't leave the room during these meetings,,, that's when you get "volunteered".

Scott- I'm sure they paid in spades for the assistance. I'll meet up with JK over the summer. Safe trip for you and Lynn.

Played golf yesterday finished 4 under. ( started with 12 balls left with 8 :rotfl:)

Enjoy the weekend everyone

Denise, we have mischevious cats also. Erica must have animals. Not sure why but we must.

Connie, I have a competitive walk race on Aug 8th and Sept 9th, several other races coming up but they are mixed run and walkers. Then Thanksgiving Day is a walk race. Last year I was never worse than 3rd in any of my races and I won my age group in all of them.

I had pool fun today since I was a little sore in the quads from the hills yesterday. I hadn't attacked those long hills since last fall.

Only two weeks till we make the trip to Canada so Erica can do the Toronto women's half. It will be her first race and I got her ready with the 3 weeks I had to work with. She is on her feet all night at work so she just needed so regular miles.

Tired Panda:hippie:

Dave, I hope you and Erica have fun in Canada. I want to do the Quebec Marathon at some point.

I did my long run today. 11.8 miles in 1 hr 35 min (8:20ish pace). This is pretty standard (a little fast actually) long run pace for me which I was happy about as my short runs have been a little slow for me this week (I usually run those around 7:30-7:40).

Best,
Jennifer

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

"A good film is when the price of the dinner, the theatre admission and the babysitter were worth it." ~Alfred Hitchcock

By now, most of you have figured out I like movies. A lot. Perhaps an unhealthy amount. Nevertheless, I think it's fun to talk about movies, especially now that the summer season has started. Wolverine has been released, so has Star Trek, with many more big blockbusters soon to come.

So this week's mixer topic is, predictably enough, summer movies! The start of the mixer, posted on the 'Ohana thread, is here.

What summer movies are you looking most forward to, and why? Also, how do you like your summer movies?

Feel free to talk about how you choose your flicks: based on directors, your favorite movie star, a beloved genre? And what is your ideal movie experience? Midnight movies or matinees? Chain theaters or independents? Drive-ins? What about the movie-going extras? With or without snacks? Buttered popcorn or chocolate?

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Currently 50 degrees and sunny – perfect walking weather. My little Hagen loves being outside, so we will go for a short easy walk. We make lots of stops to listen to the sounds and look at things! :goodvibes

Connie, I am on track and today is a Rest Day. :upsidedow
Connie-Margie - a walking schedule - sounds interesting.
Denise - Connie is tough. She has all ready started our Pre-Goofy schedule and actually has our training planned right up to the Goofy! It certainly will not be her fault if I don't make it! :rotfl:

:hippie: Erica getting in those base miles is important :goodvibes

I am a non-Movie person :sad2: I know it is sad, but I cannot even remember the last movie I went to. I usually just go when someone talks me into it. :rolleyes1

Lynn & Scott - Safe Travels

Jennifer - Way To Go! :cheer2: I thought of you when I was walking. Goodness, you would be :scared1: to go at my snail pace!

Hope everyone had a Great Weekend.
Anne, Connie, Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn, Diane, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Jen, Jessica, Kathy, MaryJ, Maroo, Nichole, Sue, and Vicky!

Jack, Yes they did..... :thumbsup2 more than I expected.

Margie, I'm sure your not a snail lol. I just can't slowdown without feeling like I should go faster, my friends say I'm part race horse :)

I normally cross train today, but decided to do an easy run instead. I did 4 miles at a 7:45 pace.

Best,
Jennifer

Hellooooooooooooooooo team!

Wow, everyone is so busy getting so much done! How awesome is that.

As Margie said, we have a training schedule mapped out through the end of January! Now, if there was just motivation to make it work! :happytv:

Jack, you and Scott have the most interestng side thread weaving through here. Btw, I shot golf once. Couldn't figure out how to clean and cook 'em though. Someone said it was because I was a country girl. :confused3

Snail? Me a snail?? Isn't that an slug with an RV?? Guess I AM a snail! (reference above remark ending with TV watching!) :snail: You dear girl along with so many others of this fine team are speedy! You can do a race and ENJOY the rest of the day while I am still enjoying the race! :lmao: We will just rename you Rachel Alexander. A pretty name for a race horse!

Lynn and Denise - Nursing homes. They are both good and evil, but it is dear children like yourselves that makes them tolerable. :cloud9:

Erica and Dave- Good job on the getting ready for Cananda! I recommend everyone have a GPS on board! They are the bestest little inventions in the world! I would be lost without mine! :rotfl2:

Okay, where is everyone else??? I miss you all! :grouphug:

See ya! Connie
