Does anyone know if they'll have something special at DHS for May 4th? It's currently our off day from Disney but I'd be willing to switch if there'd be special stuff at DHS that day, like specialty characters roaming the streets etc.

Last year they had sort of a mini star wars weekends. They have may the fourth merchandise, and some characters are out and about and able to meet. I also seen a parade of storm troopers walking about interacting with guests. Honestly I think it is just a mini test run for star wars weekends. Howevrr, with no SW weekends this year I'm not sure what they will do. But last year they did celebrate it and acknowledge it. But it wasn't some full blown thing

Last year, parents were allowed to join in JTA with their child.

I wasn't expecting anything full blown like a SWW or such. Were the things they did in the past announced ahead of time or was it something that was just there when you went? We'd be up to change days on short notice if we'd know ahead of time.If it's just Storm Troopers out and about, I think we can miss it. My brother is part of the 501st, we get to see herds of them regularly:rotfl:

Chewy was also out and about, as well as some Jawas. Chewbacca went on Star Tours, and we just missed getting into the same vehicle as he did! I was so bummed!

I don't remember them announcing anything about it. I could be wrong though. I'm sure they will do something this year with Star wars becoming a huge part of the park going forward. Tbh, Im kind of sick of all the Star Wars stuff already (and I love star wars! I mean LOVE star wars) they are going to run it into the ground like frozen

I assume you just mean SW stuff in DHS on May 4th because SWW is no more.

Well....May 4th is Star Wars day.....even if it's not a Disney recognized day. Lol. Just one year I want to do Star Tours on my Star Wars Day anniversary.

I think I'll stick with our regular plan then. The kids know Darth Vader and Chewie - my DD3 calls Chewie per "huggy bear". I think I won't take them to see Chewbacca, otherwise my DD will probably run up to him assuming it's uncle's best friend who's in the costume  I guess we'll just go meet Kylo Ren then - they haven't met him yet.

I'll be there on May 4th.

Last year, they had some 501st as troopers. Periodically they marched through the streets of America to Center Stage area. This year the Streets of America will be closed.

They had the Star Wars clips and Star Wars food at Sci-Fi. But I doubt that will happen this year. Also had Star Wars food at H&V last year.

There were t-shirts ands special pins.

As @hiroMYhero said, there was parent child jedi training.
