May the Force Be With Us May 2012 Dining Review Updated Narccoosses

All caught up! Enjoyed reading your reviews!!!!
We also love Yak and Yeti and b/c we go during hot times, we love the food and it's a good way to cool down also. We've always had great meals at Yak and Yeti. :goodvibes

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of Landry's (we've had bad experiences at Rainforest Cafes, though not at WDW). Similarly, my entree at Yak and Yeti has never blown me away. However, the seafood curry looks great, and I really like the wonton dessert. :)

I just realized that we were at Yak & Yeti at the same time as you on May 20th, only we were seated downstairs. And except for the entrees, we had all the same food. :lmao: I forgot to take a picture of the menu though so I'm glad to see you covered that. :thumbsup2

Love the reviews! I totally agree about Yak & Yeti! We absolutely love it there! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more!

Ooh I am very late joining - sorry :(
Great reviews so far
We must try lunch at Chefs next time, it looks really good
Shame about your service at YSH, we have one of our fave servers ever when we had dinner there :)

Welcome :goodvibes Yes you should try Chefs, it's wonderful.:goodvibes

I am just drooling over the seafood curry! I will hopefully getting around to making the recipe you sent me this weekend!

Let me know how it turns out, I need to make a pot myself. Only problem is my DH won't eat it, so it's a lot for one person.

I enjoy Landry's seafood house, salt grass steakhouse, and Joe's crabshack, but am afraid to try Rainforest Cafe :rotfl: You should try the seafood curry though at Y&Y!!

Well darn we could have said hello to each other! Didn't you think the restaurant was dead when you were there?

Thanks glad to hear we think alike.

Up Next a last minute switch to one of my fav Disney spots:ccat: Narccoossess!

Great reviews! I have never tried Y&Y but may give it a whirl this fall. So sorry to hear of the lackluster service at Yachtsman...what a bummer. Totally agree on your love of Chefs de France...soooo good. Have to say I am a bit on the fence about Le Cellier but do love that soup and pretzel bread!!! Thanks for sharing your reviews!!!!

You can always get the soup at the F&W festival, but they don't give you the bread.

Dinner May 20

Narccoosses-Grand Floridian

This meal was a last minute change due to the fact we had 2 credits left and needed to use them. We cancelled our Sanaa reservation and went here instead. One of these days we are going to go to Sanaa!! This was my third time eating here and my DH second. He did not like his lobster the last time so I told him this time get the filet. When we arrived we were handed a buzzer and went over to bar and I ordered a mojito. It was very very strong :) We waited about 30 minutes past our reservation time and it took me all of those minutes to drink that thing. When we were finally seated we had a nice table with a view of the castle and even saw the electrical parade and wishes. Our server was very nice and the service was quiet good. To start of with I ordered a magical star cocktail.

Next came the hot sourdough bread and sea salt butter, sooo good :thumbsup2

For the appetizers I had the soft shell crab-so good!

My DH had the calamari. I love the peppers that come with it.

For my entree I had the Maine Lobster. It was fantastic.

My DH had the filet, which I had a bite and it was perfect!

Overall this was our best meal we have ever had at Narccoosees and I am debating on whether to go deluxe next time just to eat here. I love the upscale ambiance, the food, and the location.

I would go back just for the almond crusted cheesecake (and the last time I was there I got to stare at Tom Cruise for 2 hours!) :)

Glad you liked it....One of my favorites.

Looks like you had a wonderful evening in Narccoosees
It's such a lovely setting isn't it?
I love how light and bright it is in there :)

What a great way to finish your trip with Narcoosees. To be able to see the electric parade and Wishes from your table is an awesome bonus! :wizard:

That lobster looks huge! Mmmmm.... soooo good looking. I love the fancy whipped potato look for your DH's dish.

Thanks for sharing all of your delicious dining experiences and photos!

I love Narcoossee! I'm so upset that I haven't been able to make it there the last few trips. Your lobster and soft shell crabs both look fantastic!

Great review of Narcoossee's! I'm happy that you got to enjoy the soft shell crab, since it only appears on menus for a few weeks each year (it'll probably be gone by the end of June). I'm looking forward to returning to Narcoossee's in a few weeks. :)

You even know about the season for soft shell crab!! I'm old enough to be your mom and I just learned about the "season" this year! You can tell I don't eat soft shell crab right? I do have a point here.... you are a confirmed food connoisseur!

Sorry vettegirl for the interruption! Still thinking it was a great way to end your trip! :goodvibes

We weren't at Narcoossee's on the same night, but we were there just a few days later...it was our last dinner of the trip, too. ;) This time we ordered the exact same foods, with the exception of your crab appetizer and magical star cocktail (which I wish I had ordered ;)). I think we were on the same wavelength foodwise during our May trips. :)

I'm so happy that you had such an incredible meal at Narcoosee! I haven't been there yet but it's now going on my long list of new places to try! :thumbsup2

Wow Tom Cruise, how exciting! We did get the cheescakes just took them to go. I wound up throwing one away which killed me to do so it is sooooo good.

It truly is a nice romantic upscale setting, and looking at that castle in the background is pure magic :)

Your most welcome, thanks for tagging along. I will get to Sanaa, one day. Thinking about going with my friend in Sept, except we won't have a car so it will be a pain to get to Kidani.

You will have to make it there on the next trip.

Thanks so much for the wonderful photos and reviews. Everything looks so good! :thumbsup2

I didn't know it had a season, so I am glad I time that just right.
