May the 4th.....

I'm a lifelong Star Wars nerd who gets to spend Star Wars Day at Hollywood Studios for the first time ever this year!!! While I'm not disappointed to be missing the crowds that Star Wars Weekends used to bring, I am bummed over other things.

Do they by any chance bring out Jedi Mickey & Leia Minnie that Day?' They JUST put the Galactic Fireworks on the calander. I know there's a big Star Wars Convention the middle of April that Disney is doing event tie-ins for so does that mean May 4th is a wash this year?!

It will be awesome just to be there that day but dang I sure want to see Mickey & Minnie in costume!!

Anything else that goes on special for May 4 since they discontinued the weekends?! ...

I can't actually remember what they did last year, it was that uneventful. disney basically likes buttons and special cupcakes for special days of the year. maybe you'll see a surprise meet and greet dressed different as mickey and minnie do meet and greet at Hs.

It's no where near as special as when they had Star Wars Weekends. May 4th and 5th now isn't really anything out of the ordinary unless you go looking for the limited edition pins and t shirts. I don't believe they have any special meet and greets. It'll probably just be pins, maybe a shirt, and maybe a special cupcake

R.I.P. Star Wars Weekends Last 2 trips were timed for those, and technically this trip would be occurring during them if they still had them. While I understand the focus on Star Wars Land, not sure why they didn't keep SWW until the new land opened. Would have brought a lot of needed extras to HS. I mean Kylo and Chewie are nice, but I miss being able to see all the other characters as well. And would prefer Vader over Kylo any day!

I was there last year. They do not bring out any special characters, in fact from what's been reported here they're no longer allowed to use the mash up characters (Disney/SW). There was no special cupcake or anything like that. The only things they had were special edition shirts, pins, MBs, & ornaments for the 4th & 5th.

We will be there wearing our May the 4th t-shirts - that might be about as special as it gets, lol.

The last couple years it was just a t-shirt and a pin released. Also for May the Sith, but released on the 4th.

A few years ago, there was a limited time magic (I think that was what it was called?) They had 501st troopers who marched around the park and posed for pictures. And Star Wars themed meals. But nothing special since.

My family and I will be at DHS for May the 4th after my husband gets done trooping at a library.

I've heard this as well about the mashup characters. They want to make it more authentic instead of cutesy.
