We were supposed to go to Disney in February but sickness derailed our plans.
So now, we should have approval for May - likely first week.
Or we could wait and do November. I am not interested in summer.
On the one hand, May is sooner so I don't have to disappoint my child any longer than needed. On the other hand, we are late for a kind dining reservations so we might not get such a good plan.

November (first week) seems not too busy and is my daughter and husbands birthday so that's fun.
Thoughts?

Tough dilemma...2 very good times to go, In terms of weather, crowds, etc.

Even though May is right around the corner, the only thing that you won't be able to snag, are those 6mos. ADR's to the tough places..
There should be availability at many of the TS around...The FP+ haven't come out yet, so there's still time for you for that...

Although I do personally love Jersey week. Going from Halloween to Xmas stuff is kinda neat...

Either way you can't go wrong. Have fun..Enjoy:thumbsup2

I don't think you can go wrong in either case. Depending on the week you go, if you go in May F&G might still be happening at Epcot which is fun or F&W might still be going on. I don't think there are any times any more with no crowds and the weather would be similar both months. We were there last week and there were days it was up in the 80s. As far as ADRs, we didn't book anything in advance and had no problems snagging ADRs the morning of for everywhere we wanted to eat. Mind you, we didn't eat at BOG since we don't really like it but everything else had something available.

Nov is my absolute favorite time to go, love the cooler weather, the crowds are great (just not Thanksgiving week). But I have heard great things about May, beautiful weather, low crowds etc. If I could do it, I would go the first week of May. Spring breaks are done, school is still in session.

My vote is November. Should be better weather wise and I love Food and Wine and the holiday parties. If you're able to swing it, doing both the Halloween and Christmas parties in one trip would be amazing!!! There is nothing more magical than Disney decorated for Christmas time.

Early May has F&G at epcot and the weather shouldn't be too hot.

Mid November or the week after Thanksgiving would be preferable to me rather than the first week of November (better for decorations). But the first week would still include F&W at epcot so that's pretty good.

But if I had to pick one I'd vote for May...

If you want to include pandora in your plans you're going in november. Oh and I don't expect it to be anything less than really crowded for the year after pandora opens.

Early may is great but end of may has a good possbility in summer weather. right around memorial day is when it'll go from nice spring crowded to "oh yeah, it's summer now crowded".

My vote is for November. We love the F & W. Also, the crowds are not too bad and weather is better than May, IMO. You will have lots of time to get the ADR's when and where you want. Plus, you may get to Pandora and see Rivers of Light, which look like they will be amazing.

This is what we did this year, and it was great. There really are pros and cons to both. Both F&W and F&G are great, love the decorations around party time. May can be very rainy, while we only saw one short shower during last week of Oct/first week of Nov. As far as ADRs are concerned, I am currently booking for our mid-to-late May trip and haven't had any trouble booking for our party of 8. Parties of 4 or less should still be pretty easy at this point. If our APs didn't expire early-June, we would probably postpone our 2017 trip from May to late Oct/Early Nov just to make sure Avatarland is open.

As a family that usually goes in May (end of May even), we found the 1st week of November crowds to be very heavy some days. So, I would expect crowds to be heavier than early-May if they are heavier than late-May (after school is out). Some days were just really, really crowded.

We went the end of April (after school vacation week which I believe is usually third week)/first week in May in 2015 and it was great! I would definitely go back at that time again.

I'm sure you are a lovely person but we had some bad encounters with some Jersey Folks last November during that week. I'll be avoiding jersey week from now on. To each his own.
LoL

Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't let 1 instance like what you had spoil it for future visits though.... The mere fact that they call it Jersey week doesn't necessarily mean it's 100% of New Jerseyans... In fact The late summer months also have a huge following. But with that you'll have to deal with the HOT HOT Summer Temps.

It really is a nice time to go. Maybe try for the week prior or just after:confused3 you'll still be able to reap the benefits...Just my $.02.
