May MK hours - venting frustration :-)

Yup I got my email too... May 3rd went from a 3 to a 6 overall .. I have never been before so hoping these are still very easy to manage crowds

Oy. That's painful. We're up to 7s for our AK and MK days. And that's on the new scale so worse than last year's 7s. But given the way Jan went I'm not surprised.

But it's definitely more manageable than what they're seeing now. For me personally everything below 8 is manageable. 8 is where it starts to feel uncomfortable for me. Our first trip was spring break in March with crowd numbers similar to these and we found it manageable.

I am there for a quick trip May 11-14, I’m still hoping they will extend some hours as we get closer.

I got an email from Touring Plans this morning bumping up the crowd calendar numbers for my trip dates, 5/03/18 - 5/12/18. Most bumped up one point (5 to 6 for example) but I did see AK and HS bump up 2 points.

I'm 5/7 to 5/12 (but only in the parks 5/8 to 5/11) and I got an email as well. MK and AK went up 2 points on 5/9.

What's going on at DHS on 5/4?

Maybe nothing? IDK.

I am not a Star Wars fan, but I did read somewhere that 5/4 is a significant date for Star Wars and that the Studios do something to celebrate it.

Got the email yesterday saying all our dates are being bumped up for crowd level. It looks like each day is an overall 6, but our current park plans seem to have us in the parks rated at 7 for each day I would attempt to revise some of my plans but I'm sure it would be next to impossible to get some of the same fast passes. Oh well, we will make do.

I wouldn't try to switch (tempting though I agree it is). It's a prediction anyway so it may be wrong and they could change it again in a week if Disney changes the hours.

I got an email from KtP this afternoon saying that May hours have been updated. Can anyone tell what changed? The hours for the week of 5/13 look exactly the same. I hadn't been paying attention to the other weeks so I can't tell if that's where the changes are.

It looks like MK is staying open later (10 pm) which means EMH on the 16th are now from 10 pm - 12 am

This is much better! 10PM at MK for weekedays, 11PM on Fridays and midnight on Saturdays, plus the EMH from 10 to 12. I'm a happy girl!
I really like that 10PM AK closing time, I'm really looking forward to doing AK at night (always closed at 6 or 6:30 the previous years we went).

It usually takes a day or two or three for the FP to become available when they extend hours. Often the first thing you will see is that the new times show on MDE, but no FP show. Then they will add the FP, but not every ride is added at the same time or even the same day. Keep checking.

Us too. We are going in June so no extended hours for us, hopefully soon! We have never been able to do AK at night as right now we have a half hour between sunset and closing time, which is definitely not enough time. I sooooo hope this bodes well for us to get extended hours too so we can have some time at night in Avatar as well as being able to see ROL and the tree of life, and doing the nighttime safari on our other AK night. Fingers crossed!

Thank you. I’m hoping to move my first FP down to my last FP (move a 5:30-6:30pm over to a 8:30-9:30pm). That way I’ll have more time to nap or relax by the pool before we head over to the parks.
