Whee! Thank you, I'd love to join you! That's like the perfect time for brunch. And High Tea on the first Sea day? That sounds great, also. Were you inviting me to join you for Tea also? The only caveat is, I don't know what my schedule for the ABD is like for the first sea day (we have a private animation class). But I will let you know if there's any conflict. I'm really looking forward to meeting someone from the DIS on the cruise, and it would be cool to bracket the cruise: eat with you on the first day, and discuss our plans, and eat with you on the last day, and compare our adventures!

Sayhello

You are totally invited! I love cruising solo but I also like company. Besides, I want to hear all about your ABD experience!

Jill

Jeff - Thanks for the info. I'll keep checking back for openings. I thought I read that bookings for Palo on the ship were done at one of the lounges? Didn't pay much attention since I never imagined everything would be gone within a few minutes.
Also good advise about the wine tastings!

I just looked at the Navigator from the 2007 Med cruise and it says that they had Palo reservations in Palo from 12:00 - 4:00pm. After that you had to leave a voicemail on their phone.

Glad to hear that most people at least got their Palo dinners!

We still haven't booked any airfare and are starting to get a little nervous... For those who have booked it, are you paying around the $900-1000 mark? It seems to be that price for most airlines we've looked at.

Jeff - when you went in 2007, was that about the price you paid or do you remember if prices went down further as it got closer?

We're trying to figure out if we should continue to gamble and hope prices go down in the next few weeks OR just bite the bullet and be happy with $950 tickets. Also, any suggestions for which carrier to use? Any thoughts?!

Hello Pixiedust,
I see you are from Orlando. We are too.We spent quite a bit of time looking for flights, even looked at leaving from TPA,MIA,Atl. Finally booked with US Air and it was $900 each. Iberia was cheaper but every time we went to book with them the flights were either unavailable or canceled or the price went up as were booking. I also noticed the longer we waited the longer the travel duration got for the same price tickets.

Lori

Jeff,

I thought the wine tasting had to be booked on-board, is there somewhere we can do this pre sailing ?

Jill,

On the cruises we've done so far, Palo ressies were booked at Palo; however, I've seen for the Caribbean cruises Palo ressies have been done in Rockin' Bar D. Luckily, there will be a couple of Med cruises before ours so we'll know from them for sure where to go.

MPS516,

Sorry for the confusion. You can only book the tastings in person on the ship. I was trying to point out that when you do that, don't be too discouraged if they're sold out.

Lori - thanks for the tips. We've looked at US Air too. We have a couple of reservations on hold right now for about $900 each so once we discuss it with the rest of our family members, we might (FINALLY!) have airfare booked! :cool1: I think it will be a little more exciting once that final piece is put in place. I'm the only one in Orlando and the rest of my family is in Kansas City (although the flights seem to be better from St. Louis so they'll probably fly out of STL) so we're trying to get flights so we all meet up and then take the same flight over to Barcelona so I don't have to fly alone for that long flight! The flight we're looking at has me flying from Orlando to Miami then to JFK and then to Barcelona. On the way home, we're flying from Paris so we go Paris to Dallas and then to Orlando.

Also, I think it's really cool that they do regional wine tastings on the ship! I'd be interested in one of those - maybe the Italy wines. I'm also hoping to buy some wine at the ports and drink it while relaxing on the verandah! :thumbsup2

Ok so has anyone ever flown into LGA and then change airports to JFK? The flights we are looking at get into LGA at 2:00 PM and we have to make our way to JFK by 6:25 PM. The airline of course says that this is very legal. Just wondering if anyone has done this, we have to take a cab, shuttle or something to JFK. The price of the flight is 950.00 from St Louis to Barcelona then Paris back to St. Louis. We also have to meet our daughter, Pixiedust, coming from Orlando so the flights match overseas. Any thoughts?:confused3

Thanks,
Donna

I haven't quite done this, but a couple of years ago, when I was in NYC, I got dropped off at JFK, and had to get my own way to LGA. Is your whole trip booked with the same airline? Are they going to transfer your luggage for you? Because if they aren't, you'll have to factor in the time required to claim your luggage, and then check in at JFK again. Plus security at JFK, but you'll have to do that part regardless. Realisticaly, you'd need to be at JFK by 4:30pm-ish. So that gives you 2 1/2 hours to get from LGA to JFK. It's definitely doable, but if your flight is late, you'd be in trouble, unless it's the same airline, in which case it's their issue if you're late... There's a direct bus between LGA and JFK, but I waited a *long* time for it to come. You could definitely do a taxi; not sure how much it would cost.

Sorry, I don't know how helpful this is, just some things to think about. The last time I actually flew into LGA and out from JFK, I was going to London in 1979. I think things may have changed since then. ;)

Sayhello,

Thanks for that info. It is all with AA and we would have to get our luggage and go through security again at JFK. I would do a cab and they say for 4 of us $28-$32. Still deciding, tickets on Hold till Monday midnight. Anyone else done this?:confused3

I have not but that kind of scares me. You can't predict security anymore or NYC traffic.

Some of the flights on AA I've been looking at have the same type of deal. I ASSumed that since all of the flights were on AA, that AA would provide the transfers but I haven't confirmed that. I think I'll give them a call tomorrow to confirm. If someone else finds out before that, please post it here.

Jeff,

I called AA and they said YOU do your own transfers. That is why I priced the cab fair. The agent was from NY and she said we had plenty of time. My husband likes the idea of getting our bags and rechecking them, knowing they should be on the flight from JFK-BCN. Still so undecided.:confused3

YAHOO!!!!!! :cool1::banana::dance3:

It's after 8pm EST! The DCL offices are now officially closed, and they did NOT cancel my ABD add-on!!!! So that means it's a GO! I am GOING TO THE MED!!!! :beach:

(Yes, I'm excited! Why do you ask? ;))

Sorry but that blows. I'm not going to be doing that even if I have to pay a higher fare.

Okay, So I am new to this. Not only is this my first Disney Cruise but it is my first ever cruise. I am beyond excited. I am definitely going to get a ressie at Palo, but am curious what is the upcharge?
