The good news is i now have my netbook fixed so can check into disboards on Saturday to get the page total .

We had to buy Windows 7 to install in order to fix all the problems - but that's got it working and is still cheaper than having to buy a new netbook (it was seriously FUBAR)

Just upgraded my netbook to 2 gig memory so i can go-to-my-pc better because even though I am officially off until June 1, I am never fully released from my job.

We are supposed to be on your flight from Atlanta, if we can make the connection since the flight changes here in Minneapolis. I have good karma that you are lucky so I am hoping your luck drags us into the flight and it is a go for Barcelona.

I am on the flight too so maybe we can all team together to get that flight going

Bad News !

Just received a Delta alert that due to protesters my Bangkok flight may be impacted, worse news, I am supposed to be flying to Barcelona. Called and they told me that my first leg flight time has changed, oh no, not again. Turns out they were just catching up to the previous change which we have already worked through.

Since they were embarrassed about the Bangkok and time change mix up I got to speak to them about Flt 114, it was canceled tonight. They will try to look for alternate routing but not many tonight were sent out. She also thought that I would not really get the opportunity to do anything in the event of cancellation until I reached Atlanta. Oh well, looks like I will be in good company.

So except for some last minute laundry (underwear!) I've got pretty much all of my clothes packed. Problem is, I still have *piles* of stuff that also needs to be packed . Tomorrow night is not going to be pretty!

so looking at the non stop flights from east coast to barcelona and find it interesting that the only flights cancelled tonight were from Delta (and any partner paired to the delta flight)...kinda odd and mainy others flew out of the same airports that Delta was flying out of

This kind of stuff is why I stopped flying Delta. I'm SO glad I'm flying Iberia. (I hope I'm still glad come Friday!)

Just upgraded my netbook to 2 gig memory so i can go-to-my-pc better because even though I am officially off until June 1, I am never fully released from my job.

I'm ok with work in that i will be non-contactable for work til 1 June. The firm i work for are pretty good about work-life balance and my immediate boss is very keen on your time out of the office being your time. SO i am infinitely grateful for that.

I wa sonly paniced about the ole netboook because if i get stuck in Barcelona because of the BA strike i think the management would be ticked off that i hadn't planned ahead and at least had access to my email and word so that i can "try" and work remotely.

In my line of work its pretty difficlt to do the work without access to the files but i guess i could at aleast check drafts from my trainee and reply to client emails. Which might help me not have to use vacation days if i do get stuck.
Don't want to lose vacation days if i can possibly help it.

Just got back from the airport. My tickets are now sorted! I asked the frazzeled ticket agent about the ash. She said they have not cancelled any flights *today*, and the ash cloud is over Las Palmas. I said 'oh good!', she said not for people flying to Las Palmas, then I felt bad. Bad traveling kamra. Anyway she said so far only an hour delay for Las Palmas and everything else was fine.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!!! Good luck!

YEAH! It's Wednesday...tomorrow will not be good with DH off school and me in the throws of cleaning/packing. But this too shall pass.

I have to admit i would have been the same in relation to the ash cloud over Las Palmas. it's sad for the people going there but i care most about me and my Dis friends getting to Barcelona.

Especially as for us cruisers getting to Barcelona just a few hours late could mean missing out on the whole cruise - if you get to Las Palmas a few hours late you might miss one night in a hotel but the rest of the holiday wil still be there.

I'm obviously just selfish, but i think it is based in logic.

I know the feeling - i woke up in the night and said to DH -

we should put a plug in the volcano then we'll not have to worry about getting to Barcelona

So far Air France to Paris is a go...all packed and ready to go. Wish I was there now. I will feel much more settled.
