May Med Magic - May 15 2010 - Meet thread - Part 2

Tinker myself and my gd Deidra (21)will be doing this pottery trip, so we would be more that happy to have the added company. just let me know. pooh:)

Thanks pooh. Our daughters Kate and Mary (26 & 21) will be going. It will be nice to have someone near their age also. One note, I wrote someone who went on the 4/24 cruise that went to the pottery excursion and they said you are only there for one hour or so and then they take you to a shopping area where they were extremly pressured and everyone left after 15 mins.

Oh 1 more thing. I really enjoy Indian food and heard London has some of the best Indian restaurants. Any recommendations?

When we went to London last year with Adventures by Disney's Knights and Lights we went to a restaurant called Sitaaray, 167 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London WC2B5PG, 44-0207-269-6422.

It definitely has a Bollywood theme -- in fact they show snippets of Bollywood films during the meal on the wall -- but we had a lot of fun, the food was delicious and as much as you can eat and we would definitely go back again.

As far as things to do in London we had one extra day and ended up spending the entire day in the British Museum. And we could spend a couple more and still not see it all. It is spectacular.

What is the consensus on whether to take original passports or copies into the ports? I did hear on the DIS podcast for Tunisia that you had to have the original with you. Also, for anyone who knows do they require proof of identification when using credit cards- therefore bring along DL, state ID, etc.?

Thread page guess - 75

Retail stores in Spain have been checking my ID pretty consistently when using credit cards. Restaurants have not. But, if you've got your passport, that should be good enough ID for a credit card verification.

What I don't understand is what I'm supposed to do with my passport when I go to the beach.

My guess is 71 pages.

Starting to cross things off my mile long to do list. Ordered euro yesterday from Chase Bank. Was $1.31 plus a $5 surcharge cause I do not have an account with them. It should be in today!

Called Verizon and got my global account going for international email etc while we are gone. Hoping I really won't be doing to much work on the ship :confused3

:woohoo:This time next week we will be in Barcelona!!!!:cloud9:

Thank you all for the last three pages! I have been laughing so hard. :lmao: I think we are all getting too excited. Don't know how we will make it another week.

I think all of you that guessed high numbers are posting loooong messages and multi-quoting on purpose. ;)

Jane, thanks for the offer but if they are not chocolate they are not worth the extra lbs! I am close to making my pre-cruise goal of loosing 10lbs...that I will put right back on on the cruise. Have a new PM yet? (that's worth another couple of pages)

Here is what DCL says:

Leave passports, air transportation tickets and cruise documents in the safety deposit box of your stateroom. You do not need your travel documents while visiting Tunis.

We've never taken our Passports out of the safe while onboard. We do keep copies of our PP with us though and also have picture ID (DL) with us at all times.

Sorry, we dropped our luggage off at 10:30 and then went back to see more of the city and do the Aquarium, so I'm not sure when boarding actually began.

How was the aquarium?

Oh, and contrary to what I was told when I called DCL, you CAN order the 7 night wine package. That's what we did our first night at dinner, at our server's suggestion.

Woo hoo! 7 night package would work much better for us. Thanks for the info. Thanks for taking the time and spending the minutes to help us. :thumbsup2

If someone starts to feel queasy we do some Ginger.

I like Ginger OK, but my favorite was always:

But oh so a witch in person! I used to volunteer for the Children's Miracle network telethon at the MU Hospital and had the dis-pleasure of meeting her.

I read about a British Airway strike in one of the posts? Anyone have any information?

Quoted from one of several stories posted today:

The Unite union must give BA notice of strike action, making 17May the earliest possible date for the latest phase of walkouts, which could last 20 days.

Well work is done. Leave for the airport ready or not in 5 hours. Packing lots of sunshine and warm tradewinds. I hope Continental or EasyJet doesn't lose our luggage. See you all in Barcelona.

Aloha
